Hallmark’s Partnership with the NFL Continues

In an announcement by Damar Hamlin on Hallmark’s official Instagram account we learned that Hallmark Channel’s partnership with the NFL will continue into the 2025 Countdown to Christmas season. The next movie in the Holiday Touchdown franchise will be Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story in partnership with the Buffalo Bills.

Who Will Star in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story

Now that Hallmark has officially announced the cast of Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, we can put the speculation to rest. Sadly, it’s not Andrew Walker – as many fans had hoped. Instead, the film will star Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario, with Joe Pantoliano, Tracy Pollan, Caroline Aaron, Steve Schirripa, and Patti Murin rounding out the ensemble.

Who is Matthew Daddario?

Matthew Daddario’s casting in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story came as a surprise to many Hallmark fans. After last year’s football-themed hit starred fan favorite Tyler Hynes, viewers assumed the network would once again tap one of its most recognizable leading men. Daddario, with just over 20 acting credits to his name, is best known for his role as Alec Lightwood on the fantasy series Shadowhunters and for a recurring part on the seriesWhy Women Kill. While he’s not yet a household name in the Hallmark world, we’re rooting for his success – and it’s always refreshing to see the network bring in new faces to mix things up.

Will Andrew Walker be in the new Hallmark Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story? The answer: No. The leads of this movie are the leads are Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario.
Andrew Walker will not appear in the movie as many had hoped. Instead, the leads are Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario – a casting choice that’s left some fans scratching their heads.

What Cameos Can We Expect in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story?

Last year, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story brought us cameos from Andy Reid, Donna Kelce, Christian Okoye, Mecole Hardman and others.

Buffalo Bills fans will get an extra treat, as several familiar faces from the team will make appearances – including head coach Sean McDermott, running back Ray Davis, safety Damar Hamlin, offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, tight end Dawson Knox, long snapper Reid Ferguson, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, and wide receiver Joshua Palmer.

What is Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story About?

Set in the heart of Buffalo Bills country, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story follows lifelong neighbors and best friends Morgan Quinn (a pediatric doctor – played by Holland Roden) and Gabe DeLuca (the Bills’ VP of Stadium Development – played by Matthew Daddario). Their families, united by decades of Bills fandom and holiday traditions, have always suspected Gabe’s longtime crush on Morgan. When Morgan sets out to uncover the identity of a mysterious benefactor who’s secretly gifted her uncle every Christmas for over 60 years, Gabe joins her on the heartfelt mission. As they work together with help from their Bills Mafia community, hidden feelings begin to surface—leading to a surprise Gabe orchestrates that changes everything and makes this a Christmas none of them will forget.

Who Wrote the Script for Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story?

The script for Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story was penned by Vanessa Marano and Danielle Morrow – two names better known for their on-screen work than for writing. Marano is likely most recognized for playing April Nardini on Gilmore Girls, while Morrow has appeared in popular tween series like iCarlySam & Cat, and Good Luck Charlie. This project marks their first foray into screenwriting, making it an unexpected debut in the Hallmark universe.

When Will Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story Air?

We’ll have to wait until mid-September for official details on the holiday schedule, but I think it’s a fair bet that we’ll see this movie air during Thanksgiving week. Perhaps it will even air in the same time slot that it’s predecessor did – the coveted Saturday after Thanskgiving time slot.
