A Make or Break Holiday

A Make or Break Holiday isn’t trying to convince us that love is easy – it’s asking whether it’s worth choosing when things get hard. From the jump, this one surprised us (living together? buying a house? okay Hallmark, we see you) and leaned into the very real growing pains of a couple still figuring out how they fit. Set against a competitive, chaotic family Christmas, the movie explores communication, compromise, and the uncomfortable truth that loving someone doesn’t automatically mean you agree on everything – and that felt refreshingly honest for a holiday romance. Plus, this winner of Finding Mr. Christmas makes his Hallmark Channel debut!

A Make or Break Holiday premieres on Saturday, December 20th on Hallmark Channel (and will be available to stream on Hallmark+ the following day).

About A Make or Break Holiday

  • A Make or Break Holiday was directed by Martin Wood. Though you might not recognize his name, he does have 57 directing credits with projects like Sullivan’s Crossing and Virgin River. His last few Hallmark projects include When Calls the Heart, Holidazed and Holiday Road.
  • The screenplay comes from the writing duo of Vanessa Marano and Danielle Morrow. Both were credited with writing Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story this year as well.
  • Hunter King stars as Liv. This marks Hunter’s 31st acting credit. We saw her in a brief cameo during Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, as well as herself on this season of Finding Mr. Christmas. Interesting note: she is in the forthcoming Don’t Move – which is a thriller, co-starring Lyndsy Fonseca and the screenplay was written and directed by Maclain Nelson. This project is not for Hallmark.
  • Evan Roderick plays Daniel. We last saw Evan in Providence Falls as Finn and last year in Leah’s Perfect Gift. This movie marks his 22nd acting credit. You know him as Arthur in the reboot of Aurora Teagarden – we wonder what the status of that series is.
  • Jennifer-Juniper Angelo plays Daniel’s mom, Maya. She has 49 acting credits and most recently appeared in Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters.
  • Roark Critchlow plays Liv’s dad, Ed. You might have recognized him from his recent role as the mayor in The Christmas Cup. He also has played the role as Dr. Mike Horton in 635 episodes of Days of Our Lives.
  • Marlee Walchuck plays Live’s mom, Tracy. She has 21 acting credits and most really appeared as Dot in both seasons of The Chicken Sisters.
  • Linda Darlow plays Grandma. Linda has 127 acting credits with previous Hallmark appearances in Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement, Mystery on Mistletoe Lane, and Hanukkah on Rye.
  • Craig Geoghan appears as Liv’s brother, Reid. Of course Craig won this season of Finding Mr. Christmas, but I thought we’d share some of his resume. Craig has 18 previous acting credits with appearances in Rescue: Hi-Surf, How I Met Your Father, and a Lifetime movie called A Lifeguard’s Obsession
  • Brittney Wilson plays Daniel’s sister, Kim. Brittney has 82 acting credits with appearances in several of the Morning Show Mysteries series, Dater’s Handbook, and also worth noting: she’s the voice of the character Krista on the Audible podcast Middlebridge Mysteries – which is a Ken “Mistletoe Murders” Cuperus project.
  • Jonathan Bennett also appears.
