A Season to Blossom
There’s something about a bookstore romance that just works, and A Season to Blossom seems to know exactly what it’s doing. Emily Tennant plays a woman who comes home to sell her late grandmother’s shop and ends up finding a whole lot more than she bargained for. Of course this includes Carlo Marks, who is playing a childhood crush and doing absolutely nothing wrong. This one is part of Hallmark’s DaySpring collection and premieres on Easter weekend as part of the Spring Into Love lineup.

A Season to Blossom premieres on Saturday, April 4, 2026, on Hallmark Channel at 8/7c. It will be available to stream on Hallmark+ the following day.
A heads up for our GGH listeners: Due to a scheduling conflict, we won’t be reviewing A Season to Blossom on the podcast. About A Season to Blossom
A drifting aspiring writer returns to sell her late grandmother’s bookstore, but its traditions ,and her childhood crush, helps her rediscover her voice, her roots, and a love worth staying for.

The Cast of A Season to Blossom
Emily Tennant stars as Elise. Emily got her start at age 10 and has built an impressive career across both film and television. Hallmark fans may recognize her from The Wedding March and Christmas in Canaan. She’s also appeared in Once Upon a Time, Riverdale, and Supernatural, and currently voices Polly in Netflix’s Polly Pocket. We’re glad to see Emily back in a lead role (although we did love her in Christmas Above the Clouds.

Carlo Marks co-stars as Max, the childhood crush Elise didn’t quite leave behind. Carlo is practically Hallmark royalty at this point. He spent five seasons as David Peck on Chesapeake Shores and has starred in a long list of Hallmark films including Christmas with the Darlings, A Kismet Christmas, Making Spirits Bright, The Blessing Bracelet, and The Wedding Veil Inspiration. He’s also appeared in Smallville, The Flash, and The 100, and was born and raised in Tofino, British Columbia.

Devon Kenzo also appears in the film. This is Devon’s third Hallmark appearance after Sugarplummed and Welcome to Mama’s.
The Crew of A Season to Blossom
A Season to Blossom is directed by Terry Ingram, who also directed The Wedding Veil Inspiration — making this a reunion for him and Carlo Marks. The screenplay was written by Jennifer Wolfgram, and the film was produced by Jordan Smysnuik. It was filmed in Vancouver in December 2025.

A Few Things Worth Knowing
A Season to Blossom is part of Hallmark’s DaySpring collection, which means it’s faith forward in tone. If you’ve seen other DaySpring titles like The Blessing Bracelet or Following Yonder Star you’ll know what to expect: a little more warmth and perhaps a little more purpose. It premieres on Easter weekend, which certainly isn’t an accident.
It’s also worth noting that this film was shot in December but set in spring, very on brand for Hallmark.

If You Loved This One…
The bookstore-as-setting romance has a special place in our hearts. If A Season to Blossom hit the spot, here are a few others with a similar cozy, small-town second-chance vibe:
- Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday: also starring Carlo Marks, also with bookish energy
- Moonlight in Vermont: another Carlo Marks classic with those same warm, small-town feels
- The Bookshop: not Hallmark, but if you want a full-on love letter to independent bookstores
