Hallmark Channel New Year New Movies 2022
We’re not even close to being done with the 40+ movie line up in Countdown to Christmas but today Hallmark Channel announced their New Year New Movies for 2022!
When does it start? Who will be starring in these new movies? What kind of movies will Hallmark fans get in 2022? We’ve got all the answers below!

New Year New Movies 2022
So long Winterfest! Looks like Hallmark Channel is going with “New Year New Movies” for the January movie line up theme again this year.
What can we expect from this new slate of 2022 movies? According to the press release from Crown Media, Hallmark Channel will debut five brand new original movies and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will introduce one brand new original movie.
The New Year New Movies will kick off on Saturday, January 1, 2022 and every Saturday thereafter for the month.

The Perfect Pairing starring Nazeen Contractor and Brennen Elliott
Is there anything better than lounging around on New Year’s Day watching new Hallmark movies? Nope.
The synopsis: Influential and anonymous food and wine critic Christina (Nazeen Contractor) finds herself at a winery she panned in the past. She hopes to leave before anyone finds out who she is, but she instead slips on ice and hits her head. The Hollingbrook family, led by single father Michael (Brennen Elliott) graciously takes Christina in while she recovers and tries to jog her memory. In the process, Christina helps the Hollingbrooks prepare for their annual wine tapping party, which includes Michael’s risky passion project, ice wine.
Looks like this movie was previously titled Love and Ice Wine.
You’ll remember the beautiful Nazeen Contractor from last year’s A Winter Getaway and Brennan Elliott from Countdown to Christmas’ Open By Christmas. We kind of hope for a more roughed up version of Brennan Elliot – like his IMDb head shot. Wowie Zowie.
The Perfect Pairing was written by friend of the podcast Julie Sherman Wolfe and Rickie Castaneda. It was directed by Don McBrearty, most recently known for the Boyfriends of Christmas Past.

Wedding Veil stars Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney.
You might have seen a “coming soon” preview for this movie during Merry Thanksgiving Weekend. We’re excited for this one!
The synopsis: The first installment of an enchanting new trilogy starring three of Hallmark’s most beloved leading ladies as longtime college friends who discover a mysterious, antique veil fabled to unite its bearer with her true love. After discovering a long-lost painting, museum curator Avery and successful, new board member Peter investigate the artwork’s origins as they plan a charity fundraiser to unveil its restoration.
There is very little information (at the time of press) about this brand new trilogy. According to the Crown Media press release, “Wedding Veil” is a working title. Seems odd that they would promote it with this title during Merry Thanksgiving Weekend. We’ll see soon if it changes.
These leading ladies are no stranger to the Hallmark universe. The amazing actors starred in some of our recent favorites! Lacey Chabert most recently starred in Christmas at Castle Hart, Autumn Reeser starred in The 27-Hour Day and Alison Sweeney starred in Open By Christmas.

Love is Trending stars Jen Lilley and Christopher Russell.
Some suggest this movie might have originally been slated for 2021 but held until January 2022.
The synopsis: Mackenzie Sullivan (Jen Lilley) is a New York-based marketing executive struggling to keep her clients. When she returns home to a rural maple farm to help her best friend plan her wedding in just two weeks, Mackenzie learns the hard way that the love and support of family and true friends means more than she’d imagined.
Hallmark darling Jen Lilley has a deep resume of movies including A Little Daytime Drama and Christopher Russell was last seen on Hallmark Channel in Chasing Waterfalls. It was written by newcomers Kathryn Hudson and Catherine Reay, as well as Christie Will Wolf who also directed.

Butlers in Love stars Stacey Farber, Corey Cott and Maxwell Caulfield.
There has been very little released about this movie. Looks like the stars of this movie might be Hallmark Channel newcomers.
The synopsis: In a prestigious butler academy, passionate Emma and rebellious Henry train to become royal butlers where the competition is fierce and sparks fly.
Stacey Farber is known for her most recent in the Netflix series Virgin River. Corey Cott has been in a ton of series including Evil, Filthy Rich and The Good Fight. There is no information on who wrote or directed Butlers in Love at time of press.

Romancing the Birthday Girl stars Emilie Ullerup and Clayton James.
The synopsis: On her birthday, Taylor (Emilie Ullerup) opens a time capsule left by her deceased mother, which contains six envelopes. In each one is a challenge to complete, challenges that her mother – aware of Taylor’s many anxieties that hold her back – knew would expand her horizons and give her the push she needs in life and to help open her mind, and heart, to the possibility of love.
Clayton James has been in Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart and also played Kevin Federline in the 2017 TV movie Britney Ever After. You might recognize Emilie Ullerup as Bree from Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores.
New Movies on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries
As of right now, Hallmark Channel announced one new original movie for its Movies and Mysteries channel.
North to Home premieres on Sunday, January 9, 2022. It stars Lyndsy Fonseca, Kimberley Sustad, Erica Durance, and Barbara Niven.
The synopsis: Suzanne McBride is excited to spend her birthday with her family. It will be the first time that her three adopted daughters will be together in years. This seems like a great time for a family reunion, but the sisters are each wrestling with unique challenges that threaten to derail this special occasion. Will their bond be strong enough to survive this time together?
This movie has a strong cast including Lyndsy Fonseca recently seen in Next Stop, Christmas and Erica Durance who played Alison Sweeney’s BFF in Open By Christmas. Kimberley Sustad was in The Nine Lives of Christmas while Barbara Niven played CCB’s mom in The Christmas Contest.
