Missing the Boat
Hallmark’s Winter Escape is ending on a high note with Missing the Boat, the final movie in Hallmark’s Winter Escape slate, and it’s one last passport stamp we’re genuinely excited about. Starring Kristoffer Polaha and Emilie Ullerup, Missing the Boat whisks viewers to Italy for a sun-soaked, fast-paced romance where strangers Kelly and Parker find themselves on the same cruise – only to miss the boat entirely during a stop and end up racing across southern Italy together to catch up. It’s classic Hallmark adventure-meets-romance energy, and a fitting, feel-good sendoff to Winter Escape.
Missing the Boat premieres on Saturday, January 31, 2025, on Hallmark Channel (and will be available to stream on Hallmark+ the following day).

About Missing the Boat
- Missing the Boat is directed by Maclain Nelson, marking his 21st directing credit for Hallmark. He’s also behind fan favorites like A Keller Christmas Vacation, Haul Out the Halloween, The Magic of Lemon Drops, and Branching Out.
- The script comes from Judith and Sandra Berg, who have written a ton of Hallmark staples, including The Wedding Cottage, all six Wedding Veil movies, A Little Daytime Drama, and Love on the Sidelines.
- Maclain Nelson also wears a writing hat – he’s previously contributed to scripts like Return to Office, A Heidelberg Holiday, and Haul Out the Halloween.
- Kristoffer Polaha plays Parker, adding a 93rd credit to his resume. We last saw him in A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, and coming soon he’s pulling double duty – directing and starring in Mimics, out in theaters February 13th.
- Emilie Ullerup plays Kelly and brings 62 acting credits to the role. Hallmark fans will know her best from Chesapeake Shores and Signed, Sealed, Delivered. We last saw her on Hallmark opposite Michael Rady in Catch of the Day.
