Listen to this Week’s Listener Mailbag

Patti’s Buffalo Masterclass

Patti from Buffalo heard our Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story review and immediately gifted us a treasure trove of local insight: exact filming dates, perfectly miserable faux-December weather, and the confirmation that ice bikes are a thing. She also let us know that a real gave between the Bills and the Patriots was shown at the end of the movie. And finally, Patti shared Buffalo’s own iconic sponge candy, a regional specialty we can (and absolutely should) order online like responsible Hallmark researchers.

A Patriots Fan Enters the Chat

Patriots fan Paula stepped forward to let us know the game in the movie was real and they did use authentic footage. We appreciate both her sportsmanship and her willingness to fact-check us with receipts.

All Hail Mackie: Keeper of Details, Queen of Our Facebook Group

Mackie brings us a People.com nugget revealing that Rachel Boston and Brendan Penny pitched themselves as a duo on the Hallmark Christmas Cruise. They literally walked up to casting, said “Hey, pair us!” and it WORKED. It’s the most Hallmark-meets-real-life plot twist of 2025, and we love them even more now.

In Melt My Heart This Christmas, apparently those actors weren’t acting cold. Jennifer Wigmore confirmed the movie was shot in FEBRUARY. IN OTTAWA. Everyone on set was legitimately freezing. So yes, the chattering teeth were method.

Shan from Sydney: Our New Favorite Long-Distance Best Friend

Shan stumbled upon our podcast and declared “I’ve found my people,” which is the highest compliment we can imagine. She’s laughing through Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper, crying through Christmas Above the Clouds, and lovingly declaring A Biltmore Christmas her all-time favorite – because Kristoffer Polaha is “swoon worthy,” and honestly? She’s not wrong.

The HR Nightmare at the Newport Museum: Jill Has Thoughts

Jill watched A Newport Christmas and immediately flagged several HR violations, including but not limited to: bosses dating employees, executives doing floral arrangements, and the suspicious absence of volunteers, vendors, or literally any event staff. Hallmark occasionally misses the workplace-logistics mark, and Jill is here to keep them honest.

Chantal’s Canadian Legal TV Corner – Must Watch

Chantal urges us to watch Family Law, describing it as “so good,” “accurate,” and full of Hallmark actors. It includes courtroom antics, sure, but also legitimate legal terminology that makes her Canadian, family-law-working heart sing. A wholehearted 10/10 recommendation from someone who knows her stuff.

Lisa Meets Jordan Belfi

Lisa casually drops “I met Jordan Belfi in Waikiki” like that’s a normal Tuesday, then points out something we should have caught: the early shaky-hand clue in A Keller Christmas Vacation clearly suggesting Parkinson’s. Also: she wants to know if we’re doing brackets this year, and yes, Lisa, we are emotionally preparing for the chaos as we speak.

Megan Notices the High School Musical Easter Egg (Because We All Missed It)

New-ish listener Megan caught a reference in A Keller Christmas Vacation that we COMPLETELY missed: Emory calling Cal “Coach Bolton” which is A High School Musical nod! This is why we need this community – so you can tell us what we completely blanked on during our note-taking frenzy.

Adam’s Simpsons Easter Egg Hunt

Adam points out a Simpsons reference in The More The Merrier – a town called North Haverbrook, straight out of the “Marge vs. the Monorail” episode. The crossover we didn’t expect.

We Could Not Love This Community More

Thank you for the corrections, the trivia, the personal stories, the international shoutouts, the HR accountability, and the pop-culture Easter eggs that keep us humble.

If you want to be featured in the next Listener Mailbag, send us your thoughts – long, short, chaotic, deeply researched – we’ll take it all.

Hallmark should honestly hire all of you.
