Hallmark Media made headlines during the 2024 TCA Summer Press Tour on July 11th with a flurry of exciting announcements, marking a significant week for the beloved entertainment brand. The event showcased Hallmark’s commitment to expanding its reach and offering more content across its platforms.
Key highlights included the unveiling of Hallmark+, a new streaming service set to launch with an extensive library of Hallmark movies and original programming. Here’s what we know about the new Hallmark+ streaming service.

Hallmark Movies Now App Will Be Hallmark Plus
The Hallmark Movies Now app is set to rebrand as Hallmark+ (Hallmark Plus) starting September. The network revealed that this transition will bring an upgraded streaming experience, featuring a vast library of Hallmark Channel movies along with exclusive movies and series that cannot be found elsewhere.
Hallmark+ Frequently Asked Questions
Streaming services have become a staple, offering a vast array of content tailored to every taste. Anticipation is high among fans of the network but there are a lot of questions about the transition from Hallmark Movies Now to Hallmark+.
When will hallmark+ launch?
Hallmark+ is set to launch on September 10, 2024.
how much will hallmark+ cost?
Hallmark+ will be available to subscribers at $8 per month or $80 annually. This marks a slight increase from Hallmark Movies Now, which currently costs $6 per month or $60 annually. Here’s What Hallmark+ Will Offer that the Hallmark Channel Doesn’t
Hallmark Channel is embarking on a robust campaign to attract new subscribers to its streaming service, Hallmark+. Central to this strategy is the launch of exclusive content that won’t initially be available on the traditional Hallmark Channel platform. This move aims to differentiate Hallmark+ by offering fresh and compelling original programming that appeals to both existing fans and new audiences. Let’s look at what is coming to Hallmark+.
- Unscripted Television: Yes! Hallmark will debut several original unscripted television shows, including the network’s first-ever reality competition show called “Finding Mr. Christmas” created and hosted by Hallmark fan-favorite Jonathan Bennett. We’re breaking down every new unscripted series here. See what we’re looking forward to!
- Original Series: The highly anticipated family drama adapted from The NY Times Best Seller “The Chicken Sisters” by K.J. Dell’Antonia will star Lea Thompson, Schuyler Fisk, Wendie Malick, Genevieve Angelson, and narrated by the incredible Margo Martindale will air exclusively on Hallmark Plus. The Chicken Sisters will be available on launch day, September 10. New episodes will be available weekly on Thursdays starting on September 12.
- Holidazed the Hallmark Original Holiday Series: Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the long-promised premiere of “Holidazed.” Filmed over two years ago, the series follows a neighborhood of diverse families through the chaos and joy of the holiday season. Audiences can anticipate an remarkable ensemble cast.
- The Groomsmen: This is the film project kept not-so-under-wraps from director Ron Oliver. “The Groomsmen,” a trilogy movie series akin to “The Wedding Veil,” features Tyler Hynes, Jonathan Bennett, and B.J. Britt as best friends looking for love and wedding bliss.
Will Hallmark Movies Still Air on Peacock?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal that Hallmark Channel and Peacock inked back in 2022 will remain intact, with Peacock continuing to stream new movies the day after a Hallmark Channel premiere.
Fan Reactions to Hallmark+
We are personally thrilled about the introduction of Hallmark Plus because of the expanded content, which provides us with numerous opportunities to create podcast reviews for our listeners.
But, some fans aren’t happy about paying for yet another streaming service. Especially some Hallmark Channel movie loyalists who might fee overwhelmed or consider it financially burdensome.
We think Hallmark+ is an exciting new chapter because it will reach a broader audience beyond traditional cable television, it meets customer needs for flexibility, and it keeps Hallmark competitive within the industry.
