New Hallmark Series Finds a New Home

Ripple began its life as Hallmark’s newest character-driven drama, but the project has since shifted to Netflix – bringing its hopeful, interconnected storytelling to a broader audience.

Review of Ripple (Episode by Episode)

Set in New York City, Ripple follows four people – Walter, Kris, Nate, and Aria – whose lives quietly overlap in unexpected ways. Though they’ve never truly met, their choices create subtle ripple effects that eventually draw them together. The series leans into the idea that good things can emerge after difficult seasons, offering a gentle reminder to “wait for the rainbow.”

When Hallmark shared the original series announcement back in 2024, executives noted that Walter, Kris, Nate, and Aria would form the emotional center of Ripple.

Even with the move to Netflix, the series maintains that original vision.

Meet the Cast

  • Frankie Faison – as Walter: Known for The WireBanshee, and Coming to America, Faison brings a wealth of experience and warmth to the role. His acclaimed work in The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain and recent roles in Hello Tomorrow! and The Rookie: Feds hint at the depth he’ll bring to Walter.
  • Julia Chan – as Kris: Julia Chan’s past work includes Netflix’s Archive 81, The CW’s Katy Keene, and Bell Media’s Saving Hope. Her versatility makes her a strong choice for Kris, a character navigating change and rediscovery.
  • Ian Harding – as Nate: Well known for Pretty Little Liars, Harding has since appeared in Ford v Ferrari, Hallmark’s The Magic of LemonDrops, and the limited series Holidazed. Ripple offers him another thoughtful, emotionally grounded role.
  • Sydney Agudong – as Aria: A rising talent, Agudong brings fresh energy to Aria. Though early in her career, she has already shown impressive screen presence and emotional range.

Additional Ripple Cast includes

  • Tina Lifford
  • Marci T. House
  • Sarah Swire
  • Vanessa Smythe
  • Robert Bazzocchi

Will a Former Hallmark Project Land with Audiences on Netflix?

It’s always interesting to watch a series make the jump from one platform to another, and Ripple is no exception. Originally developed for Hallmark+, the show was designed with the network’s signature blend of hope, connection, and character-focused storytelling. Now that Ripple is heading to Netflix, the big question is how its tone will resonate with a much broader – and often very different – streaming audience. Hallmark viewers may notice the familiar warmth baked into the premise, while Netflix subscribers could discover a grounded, emotionally layered drama that fits well within the platform’s growing catalog of heartfelt series. Whether Ripple will strike the same chord it was intended to on Hallmark remains to be seen, but its thematic core feels universal enough to travel.
