Girls Gone Hallmark: Top 5 Countdown to Christmas Movies from 2024
The 2024 Countdown to Christmas season has concluded, and now it’s time to reveal the Girls Gone Hallmark Top 5! On today’s podcast episode, Megan and Wendy each share their favorite Hallmark Christmas movies from this festive season, complete with one honorable mention for each of us.
In true Girls Gone Hallmark fashion, this ranking is based purely on vibes – no algorithm, no critic reviews, just the festive feelings these movies gave us. So let’s dive into the magic of Countdown to Christmas 2024!
Megan and Wendy’s Top 5 Countdown to Christmas Movies 2024:
Megan loved the 2024 Countdown to Christmas season, saying it was packed with standout movies full of holiday cheer and heartfelt storytelling. Wendy, on the other hand, had higher expectations for the 15th anniversary, feeling the milestone called for a more impressive lineup. Both agreed, though, that putting so much promotional energy into one movie meant other great films didn’t get the attention they deserved, leaving some hidden gems overlooked.
- Santa Tell Me: A design show host finds a letter from Santa promising to meet her true love, a man named Nick, by Christmas Eve. Meeting three Nicks complicates her search. Listen to the review of Santa Tell Me here.
- The Santa Class: Kate North, the owner of a struggling Santa School, and her instructor, Dan, must help an amnesia-stricken Santa Claus regain his memories to save Christmas and hopefully her school as well. Here’s the Girls Gone Hallmark review of The Santa Class, if you missed it.
- Sugarplummed: When Emily wishes for a perfect Christmas like the ones found in the popular “Sugarplum” movies, she’s shocked when Sugarplum herself appears to help her fulfill it. Listen to the review of Sugarplummed.
- Jingle Bell Run: Self-described bookworm Avery is paired with retired hockey star Wes to compete in a holiday race across America. The team struggles through themed challenges until romance runs its course. What did Megan and Wendy think of Jingle Bell Run? Listen here.
- The Christmas Quest: Stefanie teams up with ex-husband Chase to go to Iceland at Christmastime in search of the legendary treasure of the Yule Lads. Listen to what Megan and Wendy thought about The Christmas Quest.
Honorable Mentions:
- A Carol for Two: New to New York, talented singer Violette takes a job as a singing waitress. Things get complicated when her duet partner sets her up with a friend but starts developing feelings himself. Best jaw line in the business and other thoughts on A Carol for Two!
- ‘Twas the Date Before Christmas: Feeling the pressure to bring someone home for Christmas, Jessie convinces Bryan to join her family for a day filled with holiday events, only the family doesn’t know it’s their first date. Check out the review of ‘Twas the Date Before Christmas!
