The Way Home Season 3 on Netflix: Everything You Need to Know
Season 3 of The Way Home just dropped on Netflix and it’s the wildest season yet. Whether you just binged Seasons 1 and 2 or you’re a returning fan finally catching up, here’s your complete guide to Season 3, including the new characters, the biggest twists, the ending explained, and links to all of our Girls Gone Hallmark podcast recaps and listener mailbags.

When Did Season 3 Drop on Netflix?
The Way Home Season 3 is available on Netflix right now! Fortunately, all 10 episodes dropped at once, so you can binge to your heart’s content. Seasons 1 and 2 have been on the platform since October 2025, so if you’re just now discovering the show, you can watch the entire journey from start to finish without leaving Netflix.
And yes Season 4 has already been confirmed. So buckle up.

What Happens in Season 3? (Spoiler-Free Overview)
If you’re just about to press play, here’s what you need to know without giving anything away. Season 3 picks up right where the Season 2 finale left off. You’ll recall there’s some seriously unfinished business. Jacob is back in the present day, and Del is about to get the surprise of her life. Meanwhile, Alice is adjusting to life without her old friends, and Kat is wrestling with whether time travel can finally give her the answers she’s been looking for.
But the biggest change this season? The Landry women aren’t traveling back to the 1990s this time. Season 3 takes us to 1974, which is the year Del and Colton first met as teenagers. And that groovy new era brings a whole new set of mysteries, secrets, and heartbreaks with it.

Oh, and did we mention someone else in the family might be a time traveler too? Yeah. It’s a season.
Meet the New Characters in Season 3
One of the things that makes Season 3 feel so fresh is the addition of several new actors playing younger versions of familiar names, plus a few brand-new faces that quickly become fan favorites. We did a full deep-dive on all the newcomers over here: The Way Home Season 3: Meet the New Characters. But here’s the quick rundown:
Julia Tomasone as Teenage Delilah Watson (1974) Before she was the no-nonsense matriarch we know and love, Del was a young woman falling in love for the first time. This journey into Del’s youth offers valuable insight into her early years in Port Haven, revealing the roots of her relationships and the pivotal experiences that shaped her into the family matriarch she becomes in the present.
Jordan Doww as Teenage Colton Landry (1974) We’ve heard about Colton for two full seasons. We’ve seen glimpses of him in 1999. But getting to spend real time with teenage Colton is a highlight of Season 3. The younger version of Colton is set to unravel the mystery of the Landry pond, offering new insights into its secrets.
Devin Cecchetto as Teenage Evelyn Goodwin (1974) Evelyn is in love with Colton. She’s warm and sociable, and she quickly forms a bond with Alice after her time-traveling arrival in 1974. She remains one of the biggest mysteries of the season (and quite frankly our favorite new character)

Spencer Macpherson as Adult Jacob Landry While not technically a newcomer, Spencer Macpherson takes on a much more prominent role in Season 3 as Jacob returns to the present day. He effortlessly portrays the conflicted, time-traveling Landry who oftentimes slips in and out of 1814 vernacular. This season things will get a lot more complicated for him.
Dale Whibley as Max Goodwin Max is another present-day peer for Alice, and let’s just say there’s definitely a mystery brewing. Clues are piling up, and we can’t help but wonder where his relationship with Alice is headed.
Eli Ham as Jasper Coyle Jasper, the owner of Coyle’s (before it became The Point), is a laid-back, music-loving guy who just so happens to be a descendant of the Coyle family. He’s the driving force behind Colton’s music career, but there’s something too knowing about him. With his deep knowledge of Port Haven’s history, we have to ask: Is Jasper more than just a groovy dude?
Grayson Gallanders as Teenage Victor (Vic) Augustine A fun fact: Grayson is the real-life son of James Gallanders, who plays adult Vic Augustine. Teenage Vic is a spirited young man whose interactions with Alice and others in 1974 provide a glimpse into his fiery personality and the roots of his adult demeanor.
Mark Ballantyne as Teenage Rick Augustine Teenage Rick is warm, funny, and effortlessly fits in with the others. Unfortunately, his time in 1974 is cut short before it truly begins.
Jill Frappier as Fern Landry Grandma Fern made a splash in Season 3, arriving with a cryptic riddle and a trail of clues. While we’re still in the dark about what she knows about the pond, one thing’s for sure — she’s definitely holding onto some big secrets.

The Way Home Season 3: The Big Reveals (SPOILERS AHEAD 🚨)
Okay, if you’ve finished Season 3 and you need someone to help you process everything that just happened, you’ve come to the right place. The finale is absolutely packed with bombshells. Here are the moments that had us grabbing the tissues and rewinding.
Colton Was a Time Traveler All Along
This one hit different. For three seasons, the pond has been the Landry women’s secret, but it turns out Colton knew about it long before any of them did. He used the pond as a teenager in the 1970s, and he recognized what was happening with Alice long before she ever told him the truth.
Episode 8 confirmed young Colton’s abilities when Kat watched him rescue Jacob with him muttering “this is all my fault” before disappearing. And Episode 9 is where Colton finally tells all, sitting on the bank of the pond with a confession that changes everything.

Colton Knew Who Kat Was When He Died
This is the revelation that made us ugly cry. We learn that Colton had figured out who Kat was and not just as a stranger, but as his daughter by the night he died. He knew. He loved her. And he was on his way to tell her everything when the accident happened. For Kat, for Del, and for Alice, this changes the shape of their grief entirely.
The Baby at the Pond Was Elliot
The season opened with a jarring scene: a mysterious couple jumping into the pond and leaving a baby behind. We spent ten episodes wondering who that baby was and the finale confirmed it’s Elliot. The mysterious woman from the 1970s was his mom. So many of our listeners called that one early in the mailbags! But here’s the thing: we still don’t know why she fully abandoned him as a baby. It reframes Elliot’s entire life and connection to this family, and it’s a setup for huge storylines in Season 4.

Casey Is K.C. (But the Mystery Continues)
All season, fans theorized that Casey might be Alice’s child from a future timeline. Episode 8 dropped a bombshell when Jake and Alice revealed to Elliot and Nick that both Colton and Casey were time travelers. Then in the finale, KC swooped in to save Jacob’s life which raised even more questions than it answered. Who is KC? Where do they come from? And why do they always show up just in time? The finale doesn’t give us the full story, and honestly? We’re not okay. Season 4 has a lot of KC explaining to do.
Jacob Leaves and Sam Stands at the Pond
The finale ends with Jacob disappearing and Sam,Del’s quiet, steady love interest, standing at the pond. The mystery of Sam Bishop has been deepening all season. Alice’s discovery of the Bishop chess piece in the Lingermore attic felt like a major clue, and the way the finale plays out with Sam at the pond leaves us with approximately one million questions. (Season 4, we’re looking at you.)
The Fan Theories That Had Us Losing It
One of our favorite parts of covering The Way Home each week is reading your emails and theories on the Listener Mailbag. This season, you all were on fire. Here are a few of the biggest debates that kept coming up all season:
Who is the baby in the basket? This was THE question from the very first episode. Listeners suggested it could be Jacob, Casey, Claire, or even a surprise baby we hadn’t met yet. The answer? Elliot. And his mom is the mysterious woman from the 1970s. (See above.)
Who pushed Alice into the pond? Another fan favorite from the early mailbags. Theories ranged from Alice pushing herself, to KC Goodwin, to Colton, to even Fern. We were thrilled to see one of our early guesses come to fruition. However, the time travel logistics of it all seriously twisted our brains.
The Colton Landry almanac entry. Mailbag #3 blew up when fans spotted a wild detail: an entry in the Landry family almanac for “Colton Landry, born October 21, 1830.” What?! Is it a typo? A red herring? Or proof that the Landry family’s time-traveling roots go way deeper than anyone imagined? Reddit was in full conspiracy mode.
What does Sam Bishop know? The Bishop chess piece discovery in Episode 7 sent our listeners into full conspiracy mode. The chess symbolism (the bishop moves diagonally, symbolizing strategy, foresight, and the ability to navigate obstacles) had everyone wondering about Sam’s deeper role. The finale only deepened the mystery, especially with Sam standing at the pond in the final moments. Mailbag #10 even brought in Breanne Heldman from People Magazine to help us unpack the Sam theories.
The typewriter. The finale dropped a subtle but potentially massive clue: a typewriter. Is it connected to the mysterious letters Del has been receiving? Is Danny the one behind them? We are on high alert for Season 4.
The Kat/Elliot/Thomas love triangle: yawn or everything? This was a hot one. In Mailbag #5, a listener dropped the take that the love triangle wasn’t actually the most exciting thing about the season. One thing’s for sure and that’s that people ride hard for their ‘ships whether your Team TomKat or Team Kalliot

Why Season 3 Is Worth the Binge
If you’re on the fence about diving into Season 3, here’s the thing: this is the season where everything the show has been building toward starts to pay off. The time travel lore gets deeper and more satisfying. The family dynamics between Del, Kat, and Alice feel more earned than ever. And the 1974 storyline — watching Del and Colton fall in love — adds an emotional anchor to all the mystery and mythology that makes the show so special.
Yes, it’s a lot to keep track of. Yes, you will probably need a chart. But that’s part of the fun — and that’s exactly why we’ve been recapping every single episode (plus a listener mailbag after each one!) on the Girls Gone Hallmark podcast since Day 1.
