The Royal We
First up is The Royal We, starring Mallory Jansen and Charlie Carrick in a story where modern mischief collides with regal duty. While we weren’t exactly on the edge of our seats for another predictable royal romp, a closer look at the cast and crew reveals sparks of intrigue that might just crown this film the jewel of the month.
The Royal We premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday March 1, 2025 (and streaming the next day on Hallmark+).

Who is in The Royal We (Hallmark – 2025):
- Directed by Clare Niederpruem – The Royal We is in the hands of one of our all-time favorite Hallmark directors. With fan-favorite films like Savoring Paris, An American in Austen, Taking the Reins, and As Luck Would Have It under her belt, knowing Clare is at the helm is a total game changer for us.
- Written by C. Jay Cox – Cox has 13 previous writing credits including cherished Hallmark favorites like Rip in Time and Love Strikes Twice. Notably, Cox also penned the screenplay for the 2002 Reese Witherspoon film, Sweet Home Alabama.
- The screenplay is based on a story by Anne Black and Clare Niederpruem.
- Mallory Jansen plays Beatrix. Mallory is no stranger to Hallmark having starred in last year’s All I Need for Christmas and Paging Mr. Darcy.
- Charlie Carrick plays Crown Prince Desmond. Charlie has a healthy resume with projects like Hidden Assets and Hudson & Rex. This appears to be his first movie for Hallmark.
- Simon Kunz plays the butler Edwin Thewit-Moorland. Simon has 103 acting credits including roles in The Parent Trap, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Captain America: The First Avenger.
- Nicola Posener plays Princess Coralina. Stand outs in her resume include a NCIS from 2022 as well as 20 episodes of the soap series The Bold and the Beautiful.
- Rae Lim plays best friend Chloe. Rae’s IMDb is a heavy mix of voice work and episodic television, like Emergency: LA and Avenue 5.
- Carolyn Backhouse plays Queen Leupiniaa. Carolyn is an English actress who has appeared several series including Doctors, Coronation Street, and 96 episodes of a sci-fi drama called Jupiter Moon.
- Jacinta Mulcahy plays Queen Marguerite. Jacinta has 27 previous acting credits , including the 2024 Lindsay Lohan vehicle Irish Wish.
- Michael Howe plays King Richmond. Michael is an English actor with 50 previous acting credits including McDonald & Dodds and The Mystery of Mr E.
- Adam Woodward plays Cody the Plumber. Adam had an impressive stint on the series Hollyoaks with 348 episodes.
