What is The Chicken Sisters About?
The Chicken Sisters is a tale of family feuds and competition. Inspired by K.J. Dell’Antonia’s best-selling novel, this heartwarming (and sometimes frustrating) series is set in the fictional town of Merinac, Kansas, where a decades-old fried chicken rivalry has kept feathers ruffled for generations.
Noteworthy: the TV adaptation takes some creative liberties and doesn’t stick strictly to Dell’Antonia’s novel, so if you’re a book fan, expect some unexpected twists.
At the center of the drama are two family-owned restaurants – Mimi’s and Frannie’s. Beneath the golden-brown crunch of their famous fried chicken recipes lies a deeper battle of family loyalty, personal ambition, and the messy, complicated ties that bind.
