The Best Winter Movies On Hallmark
The holiday season may be in our rear-view mirror, but that doesn’t mean that Hallmark movie watching season is behind us. In fact, we believe some of the best of the year are yet to come! We’re counting down our top five winter movies on Hallmark.
Taking a Shot at Love
- Stars: Luke Macfarlane and Alexa Penavega
A heartwarming tale of love and second chances, Taking a Shot at Love stars Luke Macfarlane as NHL star Ryan Cooper and Alexa Penavega as Jenna, a former professional dancer. When Ryan suffers a career-threatening injury, Jenna uses her expertise in ballet to help him recover physically and emotionally. As their bond deepens, they must navigate the challenges of their budding romance and the uncertain future.
Why You Should Watch: This movie beautifully blends romance, sports, and the arts. The chemistry between Macfarlane and Penavega is undeniable, and the ballet sequences are simply stunning.

Winter in Vail
- Stars: Lacey Chabert and Tyler Hynes

When event planner Chelsea inherits a chalet, she relocates to Vail to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. As she settles into her new life, she encounters the charming local Owen Becker, and sparks fly.
Why You Should Watch: Strudelfest, duh. But seriously, Winter in Vail is a classic Hallmark tale of love, loss, and new beginnings. The stunning winter scenery, coupled with the heartwarming storyline, makes this movie a must-watch.

Frozen in Love
- Stars: Rachel Leigh Cook and Niall Matter
Rachel Leigh Cook stars as Mary, a struggling bookstore owner who enlists the help of a charming hockey player, Adam, to save her business. As they work together, they discover a surprising connection and a budding romance.
Why You Should Watch: This movie offers a delightful blend of romance, humor, and heartwarming moments. Cook and Matter share a palpable chemistry, and the storyline is both heartwarming and entertaining. Why You Should Watch: First of all, a Google search tells me that it should be “Love IN Iceland,” and I’m having a hard time getting over it. Nevertheless, we love a shot on location movie for authenticity and we’re going to trust the advice of our Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook group for their recommendation.
