About Taking a Shot at Love

This Hallmark Channel movie debuted in January 2021 during the “New Year, New Movies” lineup. Taking a Shot at Love was filmed in Canada but was set in the real-life town of Avon, CT.
Kevin Fair directed Taking a Shot at Love. Kevin has an extensive Hallmark resume include many of the Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies, Wedding Every Weekend, Always Amore, and Checkin’ It Twice.
Julie Sherman Wolfe wrote the screenplay. Fun fact: Julie likes in Avon, CT – the town this movie takes place in.
Alexa PenaVega stars as Jenna. Alexa is best known for her role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids franchise. For Hallmark, she has starred in movies like Never Too Late to Celebrate, A Paris Proposal, and Love in the Limelight. She’s also starred in several movies from the Picture Perfect Mysteries franchise opposite her real-life husband Carlos PenaVega.
Luke Macfarlane stars as Ryan. Luke made a name for himself on Hallmark with roles in The Birthday Wish and A Shoe Addict’s Christmas. After a short break, he has come back with projects like Notes of Autumn and CrimeTime: FreeFall, as well as the unscripted show Home is Where the Heart Is.
