Santa Tell Me

When Calls the Heart fans, this one is for you. Santa Tell Me brought Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing back together on screen for the first time since Jack Thornton’s heartbreaking exit from Hope Valley, and the internet had feelings about it. But even if you have never watched a single episode of When Calls the Heart, this movie stands on its own as a fun, twisty holiday romance with a premise that is just clever enough to keep you engaged. Megan and Wendy break it all down.

Santa Tell Me premiered on Saturday, November 9, 2024 on Hallmark Channel and is available to stream on Hallmark+.

What Is Santa Tell Me About?

Olivia is a design show host who finds a mysterious letter from Santa promising that she will meet her true love by Christmas Eve, and that his name will be Nick. The problem: she promptly meets not one Nick, not two Nicks, but three of them. Now she has to figure out which one, if any, is the Nick from the letter, all while her producer Chris keeps showing up and being inexplicably helpful and charming. If you have watched more than three Hallmark movies in your life, you will spot the twist immediately. The fun is in watching Olivia figure it out.

Ryan Landels wrote and directed Santa Tell Me. This was Ryan’s 11th writing and directing credit. He also wrote and directed Sugarplummed, the delightfully meta Hallmark movie that premiered the same season on December 7, 2024, starring Maggie Lawson and Janel Parrish.

Erin Krakow stars as Olivia. Erin got her start on Army Wives and her resume since then has been almost entirely Hallmark, including her beloved 122-episode run as Elizabeth Thornton on When Calls the Heart, which wrapped its 13th and final season in 2026. This is one of those movies where watching Erin clearly enjoy herself makes the whole thing work.

Daniel Lissing plays Chris. Daniel is best known for playing Jack Thornton in the first five seasons of When Calls the Heart before his character was killed off. The reunion with Erin Krakow was a genuine event for Hearties and a big part of what made Santa Tell Me so anticipated. Since this movie he has continued to work steadily at Hallmark, starring in Single on the 25th opposite Lyndsy Fonseca (December 2025) and Christmas Under Construction opposite Jessica Lowndes (July 2026). He also filmed Love on Deck in Queensland, Australia in summer 2026 opposite Rhiannon Fish, his first non-holiday Hallmark movie.

Benjamin Ayres, Christopher Russell, and Kurt Szarka play the three Nicks. Benjamin is a busy Hallmark presence most recently seen leading Hope Valley: 1874 on Hallmark+ alongside Bethany Joy Lenz, which was renewed for a second season in 2026. Christopher was most recently seen in A Costa Rican Wedding. Kurt has also appeared in The Santa Class and Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane.

Jess Brown plays Darcy. Jess had a one-episode appearance on Chesapeake Shores before this movie, making her close to a Hallmark debut here.

The movie was filmed outside Vancouver in February 2024.
