Class is officially back in session, and today’s curriculum? Mystery 101: Playing Dead – the second thrilling chapter in the Mystery 101 saga, starring Hallmark legends Kristoffer Polaha and Jill Wagner.

Course Summary: When college professor Amy (Jill Wagner) turns her attention to the campus theater department, things take a dark turn. As a play unfolds onstage, danger creeps in behind the curtain – threatening the life of its leading lady. Teaming up once again with Detective Travis Burke (Kristoffer Polaha), Amy sets the stage for truth, uncovering secrets and lies that could bring the house down.

About Mystery 101: Playing Dead (2019)
- Mystery 101: Playing Dead premiered on June 23, 2019 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
- Blair Hayes returns as director. Hayes directed the first Mystery 101 movie as well as this installment. These are the only two Mystery 101 movies he directed. His other Hallmark projects include The Perfect Christmas Present from 2017.
- John Christian Plummer wrote the script. He currently has 24 writing credits including some of Hallmark’s biggest mystery franchises, like Mystery Island, Curious Caterer, and Francesca Quinn, PI. Plummer will go on to write all seven of the Mystery 101 movies.
- The series was created by Robin Bernheim and Lee Goldberg.
- Returning to our cast we have Kristoffer Polaha, Jill Wagner, Robin Thomas as Graham, Sarah Dugdale as Claire, Preston Vanderslice as Bud, and Louriza Tronco as Lacey.
- Luke Camilleri plays Elliot Quirk. Luke will go on to appear in Garage Sale Mysteries as well as Curious Caterer on Hallmark. Outside of the network he has appeared in Family Law and Hudson & Rex for a total of 48 acting projects.
- Rekha Sharma plays Bella Brightman. Rekha has a strong sci-fi presence among her 80 acting projects including Battlestar Gallactica, The 100, and Roswell: New Mexico.
- Matthew Kevin Anderson plays Duncan. With 111 acting credits, Anderson was last on Hallmark in Love & Jane from 2024. He’s also appeared in Lights, Camera, Christmas!, Game, Set, Love and fan-favorite Flip That Romance.
- Christie Burke plays Josie Hart. Speaking of SciFi, her most recent project is a starring role in The Ark, available to stream on Peacock.
- Colin Lawrence plays Sebastian Duquesnes. Colin can currently be found playing the role of Preacher on Virgin River, but you might also recognize him from his role on the Christmas in Evergreen collection of movies.
- Aaron Douglas plays Karl. Aaron has an extensive list of acting credits including Hallmark fan-favorite The Wedding Cottage.
- Robert Moloney plays Vincent. He’s another actor with a big list of acting credits including two of the Christmas on Cherry Lane movies.
