Hallmark Channel’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas continues with Mr. & Mrs. Christmas, premiering Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 8/7c. The all-new holiday movie is part of Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas lineup, bringing a new small-town romance, and plenty of Christmas spirit, to the network’s 2026 holiday season.
Mr. & Mrs. Christmas stars Brendan Penny and Pascale Hutton as Taylor Lewis and Sophie Shaw. Taylor is a single dad and holiday display expert who moves to the charming town of Pineway with his two children just weeks before Christmas. When he’s tasked with reviving the town’s beloved Christmas Market, he’s paired with practical accountant Sophie, and the unlikely duo soon discovers that embracing change might be the perfect way to create new traditions – and perhaps a little holiday romance along the way.

The movie is the third new premiere of Countdown to Christmas 2026, following ’Tis the Season for Setups and Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story during Hallmark Channel’s opening weekend of the 2026 holiday season.

Single dad and holiday display expert Taylor Lewis moves to Pineway with his two kids just before Christmas, where he’s paired with accountant Sophie Shaw to revive the town’s Christmas Market. Between changing family traditions, small-town holiday festivities, and plenty of time spent working together, Taylor and Sophie may find that the Christmas Market isn’t the only thing getting a fresh start.

Who Stars in Mr. & Mrs. Christmas?
Peter Benson directs Mr. & Mrs. Christmas. Benson is certainly no stranger to Hallmark – both in front of and behind the camera. And since he has a habit of popping up for cameos in movies he directs, will eagle-eyed Hallmark fans spot a Peter Benson cameo in this one? We’ll be watching!

Pascale Hutton stars as Sophie Shaw. Hallmark fans know Pascale best as Rosemary Coulter on When Calls the Heart, and as the mystery-solving title character in Hallmark’s Nelly Knows Mysteries franchise.
Brendan Penny stars as Taylor Lewis. We last saw Brendan trading Hallmark sweaters for cowboy boots in Texas Two-Step – and yes, Cowboy Brendan Penny was a look we fully supported. He also starred in two of Hallmark’s 2025 holiday hits, The More the Merrier and Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper!
Erik Gow appears as Paul. Fun Hallmark connection: Gow has spent the last three seasons recurring as Edwin on When Calls the Heart, making Mr. & Mrs. Christmas a mini Hope Valley reunion with his WCTH co-star Pascale Hutton.
Why We’re Watching
Pascale Hutton and Brendan Penny together. Both are longtime Hallmark favorites, but this is a fresh pairing—and one we’re genuinely excited about. They’re both naturally funny, warm performers, so we’re hoping the chemistry hits immediately. And after seeing Penny cowboyed up in Texas Two-Step, our expectations for the smooch-o-meter are perhaps unfairly high.
Peter Benson is directing. We love a Peter Benson movie. He knows how to balance romance, comedy, and those slightly quirky character moments that keep a Hallmark movie from feeling too cookie-cutter. Bonus points if he finds a way to sneak himself into the movie for one of his signature cameos.
It’s closing out opening weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Christmas gets the Sunday-night spot following ’Tis the Season for Setupsand the big Bears Holiday Touchdown movie. That’s some serious company for the first weekend of Countdown to Christmas, and we’re excited to see if Hutton and Penny can send us into week two fully committed to Christmas before we’ve even bought the Halloween candy.
