May 2026 Hallmark Movies First Impressions
May starts off strong with Andrew Walker ushering in a Derby Day romance — florals, family legacy, and that easy charm we know exactly what to do with. Then things take a turn into unexpected territory with the mahjong movie…yes, that one…already stirring up conversation far beyond the usual Hallmark bubble. And just when you think you’ve cracked the code on May’s vibe, Hallmark pivots hard into mysteries — not one, not two, but three — including the long-awaited return of a Nikki DeLoach project (and no, it’s not Curious Caterer). Cozy? Absolutely. Predictable? Not even a little. Chaotic? Just enough to keep us locked in.

Overview of May 2026 Hallmark Movies
May 2026 on Hallmark Channel rolls out like a perfectly planned lineup…until it very much doesn’t. We ease in with Andrew Walker headlining a romance that screams classic comfort, then pivot into the unexpectedly buzzy mahjong movie that has people talking. And just when you think you’ve got the rhythm down, the network drops a full trio of mysteries signaling a noticeable shift toward intrigue, investigation, and maybe a little strategic chaos.
Kentucky Roses — Premieres Saturday, May 2, 2026
Cast: Andrew Walker, Odette Annable
Synopsis: Sadie Moore (Odette Annable) works in the Churchill Downs greenhouse, dreaming of becoming a florist and contributing to the Derby’s garland of roses, just like her great-grandmother did nearly a century earlier. When Ash Taylor (Andrew Walker), the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO, arrives to do emergency repairs on the iconic Twin Spires after storm damage, an unlikely romance unfolds — and a generational secret comes to light

First Impression:
We’ve been circling this one on the calendar, and for good reason. Andrew Walker in a Derby Day romance already feels like a win, but add in the dual timeline, the Churchill Downs backdrop, and a story rooted in family legacy? Say less. This feels like the kind of movie that could quietly sneak into “season favorite” territory if it sticks the landing.

All’s Fair in Love & Mahjong — Premieres Saturday, May 9
Cast: Fiona Gubelmann, Paul Campbell, Crystal Lowe, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Melissa Peterman
Synopsis: Ronni is a beloved school nurse and devoted mom who hosts a longstanding mahjong game with her dear friends. When she becomes an empty nester, her whole world tilts — her daughter leaves for college, her hours get cut, and her ex insists it’s time to sell the home she’s poured her heart into. A chance moment at a school fundraiser reveals her unexpected gift for teaching mahjong, which sparks a connection with Ben, a charming contractor whose family could use a little healing
First Impression:
Okay, this is the one. The one people are already talking about — and not just in the usual Hallmark corners. All’s Fair in Love & Mahjong leans straight into midlife reset energy with empty nests, second chances, and a friend group we’re fully expecting to ride or die for each other. But let’s be real — it’s the off-screen chatter that has us extra curious. Is this going to hit in a meaningful, relatable way… or spark even more debate? Either way, we will absolutely be seated at the table.
Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery — Premieres Saturday, May 16
Cast: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Barbara Niven
Synopsis: When a suspect in a forgery case is murdered and the prosecutor goes missing, Hannah and Chad must uncover how the two cases are connected and solve them in time for the trial.
First Impression:
We’re officially ready for Hannah and Chad to feel like the endgame, not just the next chapter. We know this pairing came in later, so we’ve been patient — truly, we have — but at this point, it’s time for that slow burn to actually warm up a little. Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster have the chemistry, the history, and a few smooches… now we just need the payoff. Of course, we’re still here for the cozy mystery, the bakery vibes, and Hannah solving crimes like it’s a casual Tuesday — but give us a lot more romantic movement to go with it, and we’re all the way in.

True Justice: An Eye for an Eye — Premieres Saturday, May 23
Cast: Katherine McNamara, Markian Tarasiuk, Nikki DeLoach, Benjamin Ayres
Synopsis: When Sharon Warner, President of Penn Charter’s Parent School Coalition, is convicted of vehicular homicide of a fellow PSC member, the Justice Warriors go undercover at a prestigious high school to exonerate a wrongfully convicted wife, mother, and passionate student advocate.
First Impression:
Okay, now this is a return we’ve been waiting for. The True Justice crew is back, and it already feels bigger, bolder, and just a little more unhinged in the best way. The undercover-at-a-high-school premise? This is exactly the kind of swing we want this franchise to take. There’s something really fun about watching Hallmark lean into a full-on mystery series with momentum, and we’re genuinely excited to see how this one builds on what’s come before. Consider us all in on the Justice Warriors.

Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Key to the Castle – Premieres Sunday, May 30
Cast: Tamera Mowry-Housely, Risteard Cooper, Marco Grazzini
Synopsis: When a ghost hunter show comes to town, it’s up to Gethsemane and Eamon to solve the unexpected murder of the host, allowing the brand-new spirit to cross-over.
First Impression:
Here’s the thing… we’re showing up for Gethsemane and her ghost guy Eamon, not the love triangle. Meanwhile, sweet Griff is…there. And we don’t dislike him! We just care significantly less about that romance than whatever is happening between Gethsemane and her spectral sidekick. The series itself leans atmospheric and cozy, and we’ll absolutely watch.
