Listen to Girls Gone Hallmark’s First Impressions of the March 2026 Hallmark Movies

Overview: March 2026 Hallmark Schedule

March is a mixed bag with two mysteries back to back, two romances, and the highly anticipated series premiere of Hope Valley 1874. Here’s the full lineup:

  • March 7: Sugar and Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery
  • March 14: Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder
  • March 21: Two for Tee (Spring into Love begins!)
  • March 21: Hope Valley 1874 Series Premiere (Hallmark Plus)
  • March 28: A Royal Setting

All movies premiere on Saturdays. Hope Valley 1874 episodes drop Thursdays on Hallmark Plus following the premiere.

Sugar and Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery (March 7, 2026)

Stars: Allison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Barbara Niven

Synopsis

Hannah finds a body at the grand reopening of Lake Eden Inn. When a storm traps everyone inside, Hannah must find the culprit before the road clears and the killer escapes.

Our First Impressions

Megan: What has me especially excited? The director is none other than Peter Benson. I almost clapped my hands when I read that. Hashtag: Peter Benson, What Are You Doing Here.

Wendy: Wouldn’t it be the plot twist of the century if Victor Webster was secretly a Dexter situation? Let’s go that way, Hallmark.

Also: who keeps staying at the Lake Eden Inn? Their Yelp reviews must be one star. People die there all the time.

What We’re Watching For

  • Peter Benson’s direction: Will he put his own stamp on the Hannah Swensen universe?
  • The locked room dynamic: Can they keep the tension high and the suspects interesting?
  • A possible Peter Benson cameo: We are manifesting this.

Production Details

  • Director: Peter Benson
  • Writer: Allison Sweeney

Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder (March 14, 2026)

Stars: Pascale Hutton and Kevin McGarry

Synopsis

The beloved Nelly Knows mystery series continues with an elegant new entry. Nelly and Detective Michael Hogan attend a lavish dinner party that turns into a crime scene when a guest is murdered. With their signature chemistry and detective work, Nelly and Michael must navigate high society suspects to solve the case.

Our First Impressions

Megan: I actually went back and listened to a chunk of our review of the first one, and Wendy and I both genuinely liked it, even though a lot of listeners felt the quirkiness didn’t land. I’m going to rewatch before this one airs because I truly have zero memory of it.

Wendy: I remember thinking it was quirky and cute, and that’s about the extent of my memory too. My concern with mystery franchises is that you can’t let two years go by between installments and expect people to stay engaged. Where do we pick up?

What We’re Watching For

  • Relationship development: The first movie laid groundwork and now we need more depth
  • Quirky vs. polished balance: Will the tone feel more refined this time around?
  • The dinner party setting: High society suspects could be a lot of fun

Production Details

  • Director: David I. Strasser (returning from Fatal Engagement)
  • Writer: Katherine Wagner (returning from Fatal Engagement)

Two for Tee (March 21, 2026) — Spring into Love Begins

Stars: Janel Parrish and Chris McNally

Synopsis

Tee is a talented Chinese-American pottery artist who pours her heart into her ceramic creations. When Will arrives as the new handyman at her local community center, the two form an unexpected connection. As Tee explores her family’s cultural traditions through her art, she and Will must work together to save the beloved community center from permanent closure.

Our First Impressions

Megan: Have you seen the movie poster? It is SO cute. But here’s what I immediately clocked: this is our third movie this year with a pottery moment.

Wendy: I need a Janel Parrish redemption arc after her Christmas movie, which was… not my favorite. And I was not alone in that. But she is genuinely adorable, and Chris McNally is back to short hair in this one (he had that longer look in Dial M for Murder and I was… also into that, but this works).

What We’re Watching For

  • Cultural authenticity: We’re hoping the Chinese-American family traditions feel real and specific
  • Janel’s range: Can this be the movie that showcases what she can really do?
  • The community center storyline: A classic Hallmark setup — can it feel fresh?

Production Details

  • Writers: Matt Johnson and Justine Wentzel Chang
  • Director: TBA

Hope Valley 1874 — Series Premiere (March 21, 2026, Hallmark Plus)

Stars: Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, Lachlan Quarmby, Jill Hennessy, Mila Morgan, Roan Curtis

Synopsis

The eight-episode series takes viewers back to 1874 to explore the origins of the frontier settlement that would eventually become the beloved Hope Valley community fans have cherished for years.

Programming Note

The series premiere drops on Saturday, March 21 which is the same day as Two for Tee. Following episodes will drop on Thursdays on Hallmark Plus. Our theory: Hallmark is hoping people tuning in for the movie will discover the show is there, rather than making them wait until Thursday.

Our First Impressions

Megan: The driving force for me wanting to watch is Bethany Joy Lenz and Benjamin Ayres. That’s the pairing I’m showing up for.

Wendy: This is really going to have to wow me. That said, I loved Little House on the Prairie growing up, and that was set in basically the same era (1869–1880s). So maybe it’ll hit that vibe.

What We’re Watching For

  • The frontier setting: Does it feel lived-in and authentic, or like a backlot?
  • Bethany and Ben’s dynamic: This is the heart of why we’re tuning in
  • Whether it can stand alone: You shouldn’t have to be a WCTH superfan to enjoy this

A Royal Setting (March 28, 2026)

Stars: Jen Lilley and Dan Jeannotte

Synopsis

Ruby is a world-renowned gemologist at the top of her field when Prince Luca hires her to restore the kingdom’s priceless crown jewels and design his coronation crown. Ruby’s modern, unconventional approach challenges centuries of royal tradition. Her bold ideas create tension with the queen while sparking an undeniable attraction between Ruby and the Prince.

Our First Impressions

Wendy: I have a lot of thoughts. Jen Lilley returning to Hallmark is… complicated for me. She went to Great American Family, and now she’s back, and that makes me question things.

Megan: I share Wendy’s apprehension about the “returning from another network” situation. I always wonder: what was the motivation for leaving, and what’s the motivation for coming back? I’ll be reserving judgment until we actually see it.

What We’re Watching For

  • The royal setting: Can it feel specific and interesting rather than generic fairy tale?
  • Jen and Dan’s chemistry: Their fans insist it’s there and we want to see it

Production Details

  • Writers: Ansley Gordon and W. Stewart
