Hallmark continues its Winter Escape slate with another globe-trotting romance, proving that this season is less about snowflakes and more about passport stamps. Love on the Amazon takes viewers deep into Brazil, where Claire (Jaicy Elliot) hires riverboat captain Danny (Rafael de la Fuente) to help her deliver an important message to her sister, a marine biologist studying pink dolphins along the Amazon River. What starts as a practical journey quickly turns into an adventure filled with connection, chemistry, and just enough unpredictability to keep things interesting. With sweeping scenery and a romance that builds as naturally as the river itself, Love on the Amazon fits squarely into Hallmark’s travel-forward approach to Winter Escape – inviting viewers to get a little lost and enjoy the ride.
Love on the Amazon premiered on Saturday, January 17, 2025, on Hallmark Channel (and is available to stream on Hallmark+ the following day).

About Love on the Amazon
- Colin Theys directs Love on the Amazon, and if you’re thinking “this guy knows a destination movie,” you’re right. His resume includes A Machu Picchu Proposal, Polar Opposites, A Costa Rican Wedding, and A Greek Recipe for Romance. Pattern very much established.
- The screenplay comes from Juliana Wimbles, who longtime Hallmark viewers will recognize as Lisa from the Hannah Swensen Mysteries. Writing-wise, this marks her ninth credit, with previous projects including A Machu Picchu Proposal, This Time Each Year, and Love in the Maldives.
- Jaicy Elliot stars as Claire. While she has just eight acting credits, including Hallmark titles like My Southern Family Christmas and Joyeux Noel, she’s best known for her role as Dr. Taryn Helm on Grey’s Anatomy, where she’s appeared in nearly 100 episodes.
- Rafael de la Fuente plays Danny. He has 15 acting credits and previously appeared on Hallmark in Letters to Santa in 2023. Outside of Hallmark, he had a long run as Sam Jones on Dynasty and has also appeared on Fire Country.
- Persephone Barda-Redman plays sister Amelia. This is her one and only acting credit.
- Raissa Xavier plays Milly. This is her 13th acting credit and she did appear in last year’s Polar Opposites.
