Listener Mailbag: The Inbox Chose Violence

Welcome to a Listener Mailbag episode, where the inbox is popping off and the vibes are… spirited. We’re starting today with a message that would like us to know – very clearly – that our Sue Thomas F.B.Eye pilot review was, in their words, bad and wrong. Just to clarify: we watched the pilot, we didn’t love it, and we said that out loud on the internet. No regrets. From there, we’re opening emails that range from “I just discovered you and adore you” to extremely detailed holiday-season critiques to sequel intel. And yes, we’re also addressing a suggestion that we host a fundraiser or contest where a listener records an episode with us – which sounds adorable, generous, and wildly optimistic about our influence. As always, thank you for caring enough to write in – whether you’re cheering us on or yelling at us through your phone. Let’s get into it.

Listener Mailbag takes on Sue Thomas, Mistletoe Murders logic holes, Biltmore sequels, and Hallmark holiday overload.

“Please Watch Three Seasons Before Having an Opinion”

Christa would like us to know that our pilot review of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye was unacceptable and that we should have committed to a full three-season binge before opening our mouths. A bold ask. A passionate defense. Zero chill. We respect the loyalty.

“I Found You Through Finding Mr. Christmas and Stayed for the Chaos”

Melissa slid in with pure kindness, telling us she discovered the podcast through Finding Mr. Christmas and decided to stick around (a true Christmas miracle). She also confirmed that Ripple absolutely has Hallmark DNA.

“Breaking News from the Biltmore Desk”

Mackie came through with the intel we love most: confirmation that the sequel to A Biltmore Christmas is officially titled A Grand Biltmore Christmas. Thank you for your service.

“Too Many Movies, Not Enough Time, Emotional Overload”

Melissa returned with a very fair critique of the holiday season: Thanksgiving weekend was simply too much. Too many movies, not enough breathing room, and everyone was slightly frazzled because Thanksgiving showed up late and unannounced. Honestly? We felt seen.

“I Know You Love 12 Dates…But Kate Needs Therapy”

A respectful but firm dissenting opinion on 12 Dates ’Til Christmas. The cast? Great. The concept? Fantastic. Kate as a person? Deeply unlikable. Points were made. Mae Whitman remains talented.

“Roommates with a Baby”

Thoughts on The Christmas Baby: lovely idea, great supporting performances, but the central couple gave more “we share a Costco membership” than soulmates.

“You Should Do a Fundraiser Where a Listener Records an Episode”

Lisa suggested a contest/fundraiser idea that is equal parts generous, wholesome, and wildly optimistic about our pull. We laughed, we blushed, we panicked slightly.

Until Next Time…
