What Is Kentucky Roses About? Plot Details

Kentucky Roses weaves together two timelines, both present day and 1932, and both set at Churchill Downs. The story follows Sadie Moore, who works in the Churchill Downs greenhouse and dreams of becoming a florist. Her ultimate goal? To step outside the expectations she was raised with and fully embrace the artistry of floral design.

As Derby Day approaches, Sadie meets Ash Taylor, the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO, who arrives to repair the iconic Twin Spires after storm damage. Both characters struggle with family legacy and the desire to forge their own paths. Romance blooms between them, but their relationship is complicated by a bittersweet love story from the past that connects their families.

Was Kentucky Roses Filmed at Churchill Downs?

Yes! One of the most exciting aspects of Kentucky Roses is its authentic setting. The entire movie was shot on location at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky. Of course Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby since 1875. Fans will see the legendary Twin Spires, the track, and the behind-the-scenes magic that makes the Derby special.
