Overview of July 2026 Hallmark Movies – Christmas in July

After taking a bit of a backseat, Christmas in July returns to Hallmark in a big way for 2026, with four Saturday night movie premieres beginning July 4. It’s the kind of programming event fans love – but there is one wrinkle. Two of the four July 2026 Hallmark movies have already aired on other networks under different titles before making their Hallmark debut. Is that a clever way to bolster the lineup, or are we just putting a new ribbon on an already-opened present? Either way, Hallmark is fully embracing Christmas in the middle of summer once again, and honestly, we’re happy to have the tradition back.

Christmas Under Construction — Premieres Saturday, July 4th

Cast: Jessica Lowndes, Daniel Lissing 
Synopsis: Chelsea (Lowndes) and Jake are the hosts of a hit reality renovation show called Renovation Romance. For their live Christmas special, they’re paired up with a new duo and things get complicated fast. Behind the festive cameras, Chelsea and Jake’s relationship is quietly falling apart, and working alongside Cooper (Lissing) and his partner starts to make her question everything.  

First Impression:
Hallmark is asking us to unwrap Christmas Under Construction like it’s a brand-new present, but some viewers already peeked inside back in 2024 when it aired as Renovation Romance. The early reviews aren’t exactly spreading holiday cheer either, with many calling it an interesting premise that never quite figures out what movie it wants to be. Still, we’re intrigued. Jessica Lowndes and Daniel Lissing are likable and the idea of a reality TV couple selling “relationship goals” while their own romance quietly implodes is more compelling than your average cookie-baking competition. We’re just hoping the movie leans into that juicy behind-the-scenes drama instead of distracting us with a Christmas “renovation” that reportedly amounts to a few fairy lights and a fake tree. Expectations? Carefully calibrated. Holiday spirit? Cautiously intact.

O Little Christmas Market — Premieres Saturday, July 11th

Cast: Katherine Barrell, Stephen Huszar 
Synopsis: Olivia (Barrell) is a miniature artist fighting to save her town’s beloved Christmas market — a tradition she inherited from her late father — from a corporate developer. Enter Grayson (Huszar), a talented architect she meets by chance at a train station. The catch: his firm is the one behind the buyout.

First Impression:
At first glance, O Little Christmas Market checks just about every Hallmark box: a charming small town, a beloved Christmas tradition in jeopardy, and – say it with us – a corporate developer who may or may not discover the true meaning of Christmas after approximately one ornament-hanging montage. We’ve definitely seen this setup before. Add Katherine Barrell and Stephen Huszar, two performers who gave us decent movies recently, and this becomes one of the movies we’re most optimistic about.

Snowbound for the Holidays — Premieres Saturday, July 18th

Cast:  Vanessa Lengies, Marcus Rosner
Synopsis: Cassidy (Lengies) is sent by her mother to evaluate a struggling boutique lodge called Linden Lodge. Once she arrives, she meets Trey (Rosner), the devoted co-owner doing everything he can to keep the place alive, including preserving the town’s annual Christmas Festival.

First Impression:
Look, we know exactly how this movie ends. Cassidy Evergreen (yes, Evergreen) is not going to shut down the charming lodge, the Christmas festival will be saved, and everyone will discover that spreadsheets can’t measure holiday magic. And honestly? That’s perfectly fine. Sometimes Hallmark comfort food is exactly what we’re craving. This one gets a major boost from its cast, though. We have a real soft spot for Marcus Rosner, who is every bit as warm and likable off-screen as the characters he plays, so we’re always rooting for him to get a great vehicle. Pairing him with Vanessa Lengies feels like a genuinely fresh combination, and we’re hopeful their chemistry can breathe new life into a very familiar Hallmark formula. Throw in a cozy lodge, wish lanterns, and Kathryn Greenwood as the mom/boss, and this is quietly becoming one of the movies we’re most looking forward to in the lineup.

Love Under the Mistletoe  — Premieres Saturday, June 25th

Cast: Jen Lilley, Nick Bateman
Synopsis: Grace (Lilley) is a busy interior designer who hasn’t made time for a relationship. Ryan (Bateman), her former high school crush, is back in town to sell his grandmother’s historic home. The mayor ropes them both into reviving a beloved charity fundraiser called Ribbons and Bows.

First Impression:
If there’s one thing we’re rooting for here, it’s Hallmark giving one of its most beloved fan favorites something that actually feels fresh. Jen Lilley’s return to Hallmark earlier this year was a big deal after a four-year absence, so it’s a little surprising that her second movie back is another acquisition that already aired elsewhere as Operation Mistletoe. That’s less a knock on the movie itself and more a wish that Hallmark had paired a performer with such a loyal fanbase with a brand-new original script. The premise – a former high school crush, a historic home, and a Christmas charity fundraiser – is perfectly pleasant. That said, Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman are both likable, and if anyone can make familiar material feel warm and engaging, it’s this pairing.

Christmas at Sea: Season 2 (Unscripted, Exclusively on Hallmark+)  — Available July 1, 2026

Christmas at Sea Season 2, streaming exclusively on Hallmark+ begins July 1. We enjoyed season 1 far more than we expected – partly because we had been on that inaugural Hallmark cruise ourselves and were genuinely curious to see how the experience would translate to television. Yes, it’s very much a produced reality series (and sometimes you can practically see the producers nudging the story along), but there was still enough genuine cast chemistry and behind-the-scenes fun to keep us watching. Now we’re curious to see what a second season looks like now that everyone knows what the show is. We won’t be reviewing Christmas at Sea on the podcast, but we’ll definitely be watching to see if it can recapture some of that unexpected charm.

Paris is Always a Good Idea (Exclusively on Hallmark+)  — Available Thursday, July 30, 2026

Cast: Lacey Chabert, Scott Michael Foster, Rebecca Hanssen, Henry Czerny, Barbara Niven, Stephen Hagan, Julien Marlon Samani, Alejandro Albarracín
Synopsis: Career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin (Chabert) travels to Paris to secure a major donor and is shocked when her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Foster) is sent to join her. While in Paris, an unexpected and heartfelt message from her late mother — and a push from her father (Czerny) and her sister (Hanssen) — sends her on an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three past loves she once left behind in Europe. From the rolling hills of Ireland to the magic of Paris, and the sun-kissed vineyards of Spain, Chelsea retraces old footsteps and discovers that sometimes moving forward means first looking back.

First Impression:
If there’s one title we’re circling on the calendar this July, it’s Paris Is Always a Good Idea. Hallmark has been experimenting with the limited series format, and after The Twelve Dates of Christmas proved that longer stories can really work, we’re excited to see them take another swing at it. Add in Lacey Chabert as both the star and executive producer, Scott Michael Foster, gorgeous filming locations across Paris and Spain, and a story based on a beloved novel, and this starts to feel less like a typical Hallmark release and more like an event. We can’t wait to dive in – and yes, we’ll be reviewing every episode on the podcast.
