Hallmark Channels on Cable

First of all, let’s talk about the three Hallmark Channels. Yes, there are three!

Hallmark Channel

Yes, this is obvious. This is the main channel where the majority of new movies and series will air. According to Hallmark media this is the home of “signature original content includes movies, primetime scripted series, and specials.”

In addition, shows like Reba, Frasier and The Golden Girls air in syndication on the Hallmark Channel.

Hallmark Channel is home to Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas extravaganza of movies.

Hallmark Mystery

Formerly known as Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, this is the place where new mystery movies and re-airings of past franchises will air.

In addition, shows like Matlock, Murder She Wrote and Hart to Hart air in syndication on Hallmark Mystery.

Even after the rebrand, Hallmark Mystery will continue to be the home of Miracles of Christmas, part of the broader Countdown to Christmas lineup, every holiday season.

Hallmark Family

Remember Hallmark Hall of Fame? This is where you can find them in addition to other classic movies from Hallmark years gone by.

What Streaming Services Include Cable?

The new television landscape is a bit confusing to navigate!

Classic Cable – The priciest option!

First of all we have classic cable and satellite services that will include Hallmark as part of one of their packages.

YouTube TV and Hulu Live for Hallmark

Then you have cable-like streaming services like YouTubeTV and Hulu Live. These services tend to be less expensive than true cable, but still carry a hefty price tag. They include live and on-demand television, plus a DVR for recording your favorite shows.

Both YouTube TV and Hulu Live have Hallmark channels, however Hallmark Family is an add-on channel for Hulu Live.

Our thoughts on YouTube TV and Hulu Live: I love YouTube TV and use it as a cable replacement. However, if you’re simply looking for a place to stream Hallmark and you’re happy with all of your other TV choices, we would skip it for one of the following services!

Try a free trial of Hulu Live!

Hallmark’s Partnership with Peacock

Hallmark entered into a partnership with Peacock that offers live viewing of all three channels, next day on-demand movies, and a library of on-demand favorites.

What does Peacock Cost?

Peacock costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year for their ad-supported service. For an additional $6 per month you can remove ads.

Pro tip: Wait until Black Friday when Peacock typically offers a killer deal for an annual membership. In the past few years it has been as low as $1 per month!

Peacock is a great option for streaming Hallmark movies!

Our thoughts on Peacock: This is a great option if you’re already a Peacock subscriber. While on-demand titles can go away at any time, we love that you can watch movies live as they drop! As an added bonus, the picture quality on Peacock is excellent!

Stream Hallmark on FrndlyTV

FrndlyTV is a family-friendly streamer with over 50 live channels, which include all three Hallmark properties. FrndlyTV also has a healthly library of on-demand options.

What set FrndlyTV apart is their 72-hour look back option which allows you to scroll backwards in the guide and record anything you might have missed! We have used this feature more than once!

FrndlyTV has several pricing options that begin at $6.99 per month.

We love FrndlyTV for streaming Hallmark movies.

Our thoughts on FrndlyTV: This is a great option for a cord-cutter who wants their Hallmark fix! You can watch live, record everything you want, plus get a ton of additional channels thrown in for fun.

As we mentioned, the 72 hour look back option often comes in clutch. We have to mention that we find their search function a bit clunky and often turns up zero results, even for movies that we know are available!

Try FrndlyTV for one week free!

Hallmark+ (Formerly Hallmark Movies Now)

UPDATE! Hallmark has made the decision to move all movies direct to Hallmark+ the day after the air on the channel! This is HUGE news for Hallmark fans who were hoping to have a direct replacement of Hallmark Channel viewing!

As an added bonus, Hallmark+ is commercial free so you can get an uninterrupted viewing experience!

Hallmark Movies Now, soon to be rebranded to Hallmark+

Our opinion of Hallmark+: We’re excited for the new streaming service. We hope that it eliminates some of the problems we had with Hallmark Movies Now. We are also excited for the fresh content coming out on the streamer!

What’s the Best Option for Hallmark Channels Without Cable

Personally, we think a combination of either a cable replacement like YouTubeTV plus Hallmark+ is your best bet. Alternatively, we love pairing FrndlyTV with Hallmark+ for all things Hallmark!
