Hope Valley: 1874 Renewed for Season 2 on Hallmark+ (And We Are Not Surprised)
If you’ve been watching Hope Valley: 1874 with us this season, you already knew this was coming. Hallmark officially announced that the When Calls the Heart prequel series has been renewed for Season 2, and honestly, we’ve been waiting for this news since about episode two.
The new season is set to return in 2027, exclusively on Hallmark+. No specific premiere date yet, but we’ll take it.

Why We’re Not Surprised Hope Valley:1874 Was Renewed
Hallmark called it the most successful series launch on Hallmark+ to date, and we believe it. Starting with a known setting and adding in two of their most dynamic actors was a recipe to success.
Every week this show has delivered something genuinely fun to talk about, whether it was Rebecca and Tom getting held hostage by a young fugitive, the kids getting lost in the woods, or the slow-burn tension of who Olivia is going to choose. This show found its audience fast and kept them.
We are very curious what those numbers look like if we’re being honest. Like most streamers, Hallmark doesn’t release viewing numbers for their shows.

We’ve been reviewing every episode here on Girls Gone Hallmark, and if you want to catch up on what we thought week by week, we’ve got you covered:
- Episode 1 “O Brave New World”
- Episode 2 “All in a Dream”
- Episode 3 “Good Prospects”
- Episode 4 “Trading Places”
- Episode 5 “Finally Home”
- Episode 6 “Common Ground”
- Episode 7 “Desperado”
- Episode 8 “All that Glitters” (Season Finale) – review dropping next week!
The Cast That Made It Work
Bethany Joy Lenz as Rebecca Clarke has been an absolute joy to watch. She brings so much warmth and quiet stubbornness to this role, and the way she’s played Rebecca’s grief underneath all that determination has been really moving. Benjamin Ayres as rancher Tom Moore has that perfect mix of gruff and gentle that makes you understand completely why Rebecca keeps getting pulled in his direction.

Jill Hennessy as Hattie Quinn is one of the best additions to the Hope Valley universe in a long time. She’s funny, she’s wise, she’s had some of the best scenes of the season. And then you’ve got Roan Curtis and Lachlan Quarmby carrying the Olivia and Alexander storyline, with Jedidiah Goodacre’s Clayton making everything more complicated.

What We’re Hoping For in Season 2
The season finale, “All that Glitters,” streams today on Hallmark+ (May 7), and we’re told a sudden turn of events leaves everyone’s futures uncertain. We have some thoughts about what that might mean, which we’ll get into fully in our finale review next week.
But going into Season 2, we want more of Hattie, more of the Rebecca and Tom slow burn (please do not rush this), and honestly more of the whole community just figuring out how to build something together. That’s the heart of this show.

Where to Watch Hope Valley: 1874
