Haunted Harmony Mysteries in Order: All Four Movies and What’s Next
Gethsemane Brown is back on September 5, and if you want to catch up first, you are in the right place.
There are three Haunted Harmony Mysteries movies so far, with a fourth premiering this fall. The franchise has jumped networks, changed a title midstream, and taken a two year break, so the running order confuses people. We have reviewed all three on the podcast, so here is the full list along with what we actually thought of each one.

A Primer: What Are the Haunted Harmony Mysteries?
Gethsemane Brown is a former orchestra conductor who moves from the States to the Irish countryside to teach music at St. Brendan’s boarding school. The cottage she rents comes with a resident ghost.
That ghost is Eamon McCarthy, a renowned composer who was suspected of killing his longtime love before he himself died. He asks Gethsemane to clear his name. She does, and word gets around on the other side.
By the end of the first movie, Eamon has a list of friends with unfinished business who would like to meet her. That is the engine of the franchise. Gethsemane is the only living person who can see and hear him, so she solves the murders and he does the color commentary.
The movies are based on the Gethsemane Brown Mysteries, a five book series by Alexia Gordon. All four films were shot on location in Ireland.
The Cast
Tamera Mowry-Housley plays Gethsemane Brown. She is in every movie and also serves as an executive producer.
Risteárd Cooper plays Eamon, the ghost. He is an Irish actor, comedian, and writer with a mostly stage background, and these movies are among his very few Hallmark appearances.
Adam Fergus plays Inspector O’Reilly.
Marco Grazzini plays Griff. You know him from Virgin River.
Robert Mitchell joined in the second movie as Gethsemane’s brother Jackson.
Linda-Lisa Hayter has directed every film in the franchise. Kraig Wenman has written all of them. That continuity is a big part of why the series feels consistent.
1. Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Murder in G Major
Premiered Friday, September 22, 2023 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
Gethsemane arrives at St. Brendan’s, deciphers a cryptic musical message, and meets the ghost of composer Eamon McCarthy. Everyone believes Eamon killed his longtime love. He says otherwise, and Gethsemane starts digging.
Our take: we both liked this one more than we expected. Eamon walked away with the entire movie, which became the theme of the whole franchise. He got the best lines, including calling out Gethsemane for standing in a literal love triangle.
The setting did a lot of work too. It was shot in Wicklow, it looks like Ireland, and the old boarding school and her cottage are gorgeous.
Our complaints started early. Marco Grazzini had maybe ten lines. We were both already leaning Team O’Reilly. And the choir competition subplot got more emphasis than it deserved, since a new teacher can only do so much with students she did not recruit.
Our ratings: 4 stars and 3.75 stars.

2. Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Buried at C
Premiered Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 9/8c on Hallmark Channel
Two years later, and now on the main Hallmark Channel. Gethsemane’s brother Jackson gets implicated in the murder of a local troublemaker. She teams up with Eamon and the ghost of a sea captain to clear Jackson’s name, and the trail leads to a stolen violin recovered from the Titanic.
Our take: the family layer was the best addition here. Fathers and daughters run all the way through this one, and giving Gethsemane a living person to talk to fixed a real problem. She spends less time appearing to have conversations with thin air.
We also liked that the movie caught you up front. It reminded you who Eamon is, how he died, and where things stand with Griff and O’Reilly. More mystery franchises should do that.
Where it lost us was the suspect list. There were a lot of leads and a lot of characters who looked alike, and we both admitted to drifting in the back half. Wendy wanted more scares. Megan did not.

3. Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Key to the Castle
Premiered Saturday, May 30, 2026 on Hallmark Channel
A ghost hunter show comes to town to film at a castle. The host turns up dead. Gethsemane and Eamon have to solve it so the newest ghost can cross over.
Our take: the meta setup made us laugh. Ghost hunters looking everywhere for ghosts while the actual ghosts stand right there.
This was the most mystery-forward entry so far, roughly ninety percent case solving, and the clues felt earned rather than dropped in. There is a reveal early on where you realize the man Gethsemane has been chatting with is the victim, and it lands.

Our biggest wish has not changed. Marco Grazzini deserves better. Griff barely registers at this point beyond the occasional side eye at O’Reilly, and there is nothing left to root for or against. Meanwhile Eamon and Inspector O’Reilly share scenes where O’Reilly cannot see Eamon standing right behind him, and we would watch an entire buddy series built on that.
Megan also noted the cottages near the castle look historic outside and completely modern inside. A historical mullet.

4. Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Prelude to a Wedding
Premieres Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel
Gethsemane is invited to play at a wedding. A member of the bridal party dies, and she and Eamon are pulled into the investigation.
Tamera Mowry-Housley, Risteárd Cooper, and Marco Grazzini are all confirmed. Tamera first hinted at this one back in October 2025, when she revealed she was in Ireland filming a fourth installment before the second and third had even aired. Hallmark shot two movies back to back on that trip.
It is part of Hallmark’s Fall Into Love lineup.
Do You Have to Watch Them in Order?
Each movie solves its own murder, so you can start anywhere. But this franchise rewards order more than most Hallmark mystery series does, because the Gethsemane and Eamon relationship is the real story and it deepens each time.
If you only have time for one before September 5, watch Murder in G Major. It sets up who Eamon is, how he died, and why Gethsemane can see him. Everything else builds from there.
Where Are the Haunted Harmony Mysteries Filmed?
Ireland, all four of them. Murder in G Major was shot in and around County Wicklow, south of Dublin. Buried at C filmed primarily in Dublin and Wicklow. The cast returned to Ireland in early 2025 and again in the fall of 2025 for the third and fourth movies.
The scenery is a genuine selling point of this franchise. Our one wish is that they would spread out a little. Every crime keeps happening in the same small village while an entire beautiful country sits right there.
The Books
The movies adapt the Gethsemane Brown Mysteries by Alexia Gordon, a five book cozy mystery series. Murder in G Major is the first book.
Hallmark has not stuck closely to the book titles after the first film, so do not use the novels as a viewing guide.

What happened to Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Death in D Minor?
It never aired under that name. Death in D Minor was widely expected to be the second movie, and it is the title of the second Alexia Gordon novel. What arrived instead was Buried at C. Hallmark either changed the title or filmed something different. There is no Haunted Harmony movie called Death in D Minor.
Who plays the ghost in Haunted Harmony Mysteries?
Risteárd Cooper plays Eamon McCarthy, a composer who died before the first movie begins. He appears in all four films.
