Paul Campbell Has Written Five Movies for Hallmark

On a recent flight, I was thrilled to stream Hallmark Movies Now and wanted to queue up a familiar movie. I chose “An Unexpected Christmas,” starring Tyler Hynes and Bethany Joy Lenz. Although we reviewed this movie on the Girls Gone Hallmark podcast when it came out, I had completely forgotten that Paul Campbell had written the script until I saw his name in the opening credits. “An Unexpected Christmas” is exceptionally funny and perfectly executed by its lead actors. As a true romantic comedy, you can’t go wrong with a rewatch.

Let’s look at what else Paul Campbell has written for the Hallmark Channel.

Christmas By Starlight (2020) – This delightful holiday movie, co-written by Paul Campbell and his co-star Kimberley Sustad, is filled with witty banter and heartfelt moments. The film captures the magic of the season through its charming storyline and engaging performances, making it a must-watch for Hallmark fans.
An Unexpected Christmas (2021) – With a heartwarming story by Gregory McGoon, Paul Campbell crafted a very funny romantic comedy that became a smash hit during the 2021 Countdown to Christmas season.
Christmas at Castle Hart (2021) – Campbell co-wrote this script, which starred Lacey Chabert and Stuart Townsend, with writers Rick Garden and Bonnie Fairweather.
Moriah’s Lighthouse (2022) – Adapted from the novel by Serena B. Miller, Campbell worked with fellow writer/director Terry Cunningham on the script. The movie starred Luke Macfarlane and Rachelle Lefevre and was filmed on location in France.
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022) – Reuniting with his “Christmas By Starlight” writing partner Kimberley Sustad, Paul Campbell and Sustad solidifytheir status as a dynamic writing duo with this movie.
Three Wiser Men and a Boy (premiering late 2024) – In probably the most anticipated sequel in Hallmark history, Paul Campbell penned the script alongside Kimberley Sustad and talented rising Hallmark writer Russell Hainline.

Kimberley Sustad Has Written Three Movies for Hallmark

Kimberley Sustad is not only a knock out actor recognized for her roles in “Nine Lives of Christmas” and “Wedding Every Weekend,” Sustad’s ability to weave emotional depth and comedy into her scripts has made her a standout writer. We’d love to see more Hallmark movies written by Sustad!
