Get Ready for Romance and Mystery with Hallmark Channel’s August Movie Lineup!
Hallmark Channel is bringing the heat this August with a sizzling lineup of original movies featuring heartwarming stories, captivating mysteries, and of course, plenty of romance. From a K-9 detective duo to a taste of magic lemon drops, here’s a sneak peek at the movies you won’t want to miss.
Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery (August 2nd):
Stars: Rachel Skarsten, Corey Sevier
Synopsis: When Jazz Ramsey (Skarsten) and her crime-sniffing canine partner stumble upon an old crime scene, they find themselves working alongside Jazz’s ex-boyfriend, lead detective Nick (Sevier), to uncover the truth.
First Impression: Admittedly, we are very nervous about a K9 co-star, but we have been loving some of the new mysteries, so we’ll reserve judgement!
Junebug (August 3rd)
Stars: Autumn Reeser, Aaron O’Connell
Synopsis: Juniper’s (Reeser) childhood dreams resurface when she realizes her life hasn’t quite unfolded as planned. With a nudge from a young girl named Junebug, Juniper sets out to chase her aspirations and collaborates with Alex (O’Connell), a charming artist she meets along the way.
First Impression: We have all been anxiously awaiting this movie and think it’s safe to say this will be a major hit this month!
My Dreams of You (August 10th)
Stars: Skyler Samuels, Kapil Talwalkar
Synopsis: A mix-up in Dream Central leads Grace (Samuels) to have recurring dreams about a mysterious stranger named Michael (Talwalkar). When they finally meet in real life, Grace is shocked to discover that Michael has no memory of her.
First Impression: This is giving me Inside Out vibes and I don’t hate it!
A Costa Rican Wedding (August 17th)
Stars: Rhiannon Fish, Christopher Russell
Synopsis: When things go awry at her best friend’s wedding in Costa Rica, a clumsy maid of honor (Fish) must team up with her nemesis (Russell) to save the day.
First Impression: We bet the chemistry between Rhiannon and Christopher is next level!
Nelly Knows Mysteries (working title) (August 23rd)
Stars: Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Sarag Grey, Julian Haig
Synopsis: An unexpected letter arrives at Nelly’s (Hutton) office, sparking a new mystery. The letter, penned by her childhood friend Dahlia (Grey), accuses her boyfriend Blake (Haig) of infidelity. Rushing to investigate, Nelly finds Blake dead, and Dahlia becomes the prime suspect. With the help of new detective Michael (Smith), Nelly must clear Dahlia’s name.
First Impression: We’re thrilled to see Pascal Hutton and Kavan Smith reunite outside of When Calls the Heart universe as it’s obvious these two are the best of friends.
The Magic of Lemon Drops (August 24th)
Stars: Lyndsy Fonseca, Ian Harding
Synopsis: Lolly’s (Fonseca) life takes an unexpected turn when her aunt gifts her a jar of magical lemon drops. Each drop allows Lolly to experience a different reality based on the choices she could have made, leading to hilarious and heartwarming consequences.
First Impression: No one does charming what if scenarios like Lindsy Fonseca, as we well know from her turns in Where Are You, Christmas? and Next Stop: Christmas.
Head Over Heels (August 31st)
Stars: Rebecca Dalton, Olivier Renaud
Synopsis: Determined suburban girl Addison (Dalton) dives headfirst into the high-stakes world of high-end fashion footwear when she lands an internship at an Upper East Side studio leading up to New York Fashion Week. As she strives to prove herself and maintain her values, Addison finds herself navigating a whirlwind of challenges and romance.
First Impression: We hope the fashion is better than than the last attempt in Crimes of Fashion: Killer Clutch.
