New Movies Coming to the Hallmark Channel in April 2023

Love in the Maldives

Listen to the Girls Gone Hallmark movie review of “Love in the Maldives”

Premiere: Saturday, April 1, at 8 p.m. ET.

Stars: Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley

A travel writer is pushed outside of her comfort zone while on assignment.

Our thoughts: Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley are a real life couple who eloped in 2021. We’re hoping that translates to on-screen chemistry in a beautiful location

The Professional Bridesmaid

Premieres: Saturday, April 8, at 8 p.m. ET.

Stars: Hunter King and Chandler Massey

Maggie Bailey plays a professional bridesmaid with a top secret assignment as a bridesmaid in the mayor’s daughter’s wedding. Maggie has to keep a local reporter off the scent of this story while also simultaneously falling for him.

Our thoughts: We love Hunter King – she was great in Hidden Gems – and we’re glad to see her continued presence in Hallmark movies! Also, we think this might be the perfect role for Chandler Massey whose character Will has been sent to New Zealand on Days of our Lives.

The Wedding Cottage

Listen to the Girls Gone Hallmark podcast review of “The Wedding Cottage”

Premiere: Saturday, April 15, at 8 p.m. ET.

Stars: Erin Krakow and Brendan Penny

Erin Krakow’s character tries to convince Penny’s character to renovate his wedding cottage.

Our thoughts: Give us two things. First, a renovation montage. Second, Brendan Penny in glasses.

A prep cook is elevated to the spotlight on a cookie show after the celebrity chef quits. The cute Aussie cameraman plays a key role both in her love life and work life.

Our thoughts: Welcome to Hallmark, Luke Mitchell! We’re calling it now – he’ll earn Wowie Zowie status out of the gate.

Hearts in the Game

The Blessing Bracelet

Premiere: Sunday, April 9, at 7 p.m. ET.

Stars: Amanda Schull and Carlo Marks

This faith based film has single mom Amanda focusing on counting her blessings and finding strength in her church community.

Our thoughts: Weird how you can marry the ideas of faith based programming AND inclusivity on the same network.

Spring Breakthrough

Premiere: Sunday, April 30, at 7 p.m. ET.

Stars: Keesha Sharp, Demetrius Grosse, Rhyon Nicole Brown and Akono Dixon

A mother and daughter celebrate Spring Break together. The daughter is newly engaged, but the mom has a budding romance of her own on her hands!

Our thoughts: We love a second chance romance! Plus this movie is directed by Mykelti Williamson, who played Bubba in Forrest Gump! Feels like the perfect director for a movie set in Mobile, Alabama!
