Overview of August 2026 Hallmark Movies – Summer Nights
Hallmark’s 35th Birthday Celebration takes over in August after Christmas in July, and honestly, we’re ready for a reset. To be fair, this year’s Christmas in July lineup didn’t exactly knock our socks off, so we’re hoping these birthday premieres bring a little more sparkle, stronger chemistry, and stories that feel fresh. On paper, the early standout has to be Absolutely Devoted to You starring Kimberley Sustad and Jesse Metcalfe. A ’90s boy band, beach vibes, and Kimberley doing what Kimberley does best? Consider our expectations officially raised.
Toast to Italy — Premieres Saturday, August 1
Cast: Torrey DeVitto, Will Kemp
Synopsis: In Hallmark’s Toast to Italy, Jenny travels to Italy in search of a legendary bottle of “Love Wine” for her sister’s wedding. There she meets Arrigo, who’s on the very same mission, and together they discover that the greatest find might just be love. If you’re looking for romance, Italian vineyards, and gorgeous scenery, Toast to Italy might deliver.
First Impression:
If Hallmark knows one thing, it’s that Italy plus Will Kemp is already a pretty compelling sales pitch. Throw in a legendary bottle of “Love Wine,” and I’m more than happy to raise a glass. If you loved Love’s Greek to Me, Paris, Wine and Romance, or any Hallmark romance set among vineyards and European scenery, this one should be right up your alley.
Absolutely Devoted to You — Premieres Saturday, August 8th
Cast: Kimberley Sustad, Jesse Metcalfe
Synopsis: In Hallmark’s A Summer to Remember, an ambitious TV producer hatches the perfect plan to reunite a legendary ’90s boy band for their annual summer beach bash. The only problem? She falls for the band’s reluctant lead singer. Between the music, the beach, and an unexpected romance, this one promises all the ingredients for a fun summer escape.
First Impression:
We’re absolute suckers for a good ’90s nostalgia hook, so a Hallmark movie centered around a reunited boy band is speaking our language. Now all we need is Jesse Metcalfe singing at least one song and Kimberley Sustad delivering the laughs. If A ’90s Christmas was your kind of Hallmark fun, this one is already on our radar.
Aussie at Heart — Premieres Saturday, August 15th
Cast: Rhiannon Fish, Daniel Lissing
Synopsis: In Aussie at Heart, Samara, a former lawyer turned event planner, reunites with her ex-coworker and longtime rival, Nate, to plan a couple’s anniversary celebration in Queensland, Australia. As old tensions resurface, so do old feelings, forcing them to confront their past while finding their way back to each other. Both Rhiannon Fish and Daniel Lissing are Australian, so we’re expecting this one to feel especially authentic.
First Impression:
Has anyone checked whether Rhiannon Fish is ever allowed to film indoors? Between all of her destination romances, she’s basically Hallmark’s official travel ambassador. Australia feels like the perfect fit, especially opposite Daniel Lissing. If A Melbourne Match worked for you, there’s even more reason to be excited since this comes from the same director.
Paris is Always a Good Idea (Exclusively on Hallmark+) — Begins Thursday, July 30, 2026 – August 2026
Cast: Lacey Chabert, Scott Michael Foster, Rebecca Hanssen, Henry Czerny, Barbara Niven, Stephen Hagan, Julien Marlon Samani, Alejandro Albarracín
Synopsis: In Paris Is Always a Good Idea, career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin (Lacey Chabert) travels to Paris to secure a major donor, only to discover she’ll be working alongside her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Scott Michael Foster). But an unexpected message from her late mother, and some encouragement sister Annabelle, sends Chelsea on a deeply personal journey to reconnect with the three former loves she left behind across Europe.
Why You Should Watch Paris Is Always a Good Idea
We’re only a few episodes in, but Paris Is Always a Good Idea already feels like Hallmark stretching its wings in the best possible way. There’s a definite whiff of “Hallmark After Dark” here – not because it’s scandalous, but because the relationships feel more adult, the emotions run deeper, and the chemistry actually sizzles. Lacey Chabert feels looser and more natural, and Scott Michael Foster might just be the perfect scene partner to bring out that side of her. Their banter is effortless, the slow burn is absolutely working, and every time Knightly shows up, the show gets even better. If Hallmark keeps making series like this, we’re going to be asking for a lot more episodes.
