A Grand Biltmore Christmas: Premiere Date, Cast and Everything We Know
Hallmark is heading back to Biltmore, and now we have a date.
A Grand Biltmore Christmas premieres Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on Hallmark Channel. It streams the next day on Hallmark+.
Hallmark confirmed the date on August 5 during a Television Critics Association panel, as part of the network’s 25th birthday celebration. The movie is one of the marquee titles of Countdown to Christmas 2026.

It seems like the early announcement of premiere dates point to Hallmark spreading out their major movies this season to allow for adequate promotion of each individually.
Who Stars in A Grand Biltmore Christmas?
Holland Roden and Niall Matter lead the movie.
Roden played Cassie in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story last season. She has also appeared in Holidazed and Teen Wolf. Matter is a Hallmark regular many times over, with We Met in December and This Time Each Year among his recent credits.
Andie MacDowell also stars. She turned up in Hallmark’s Christmas in July first-look promo alongside the rest of the cast.
Jonathan Frakes returns as Winston, reprising his role from the 2023 original.
Frakes coming back is the detail longtime fans care most about. Winston was one of the warmest parts of A Biltmore Christmas, and his return links the two movies without forcing the new story to serve the old one.
Kristoffer Polaha and Bethany Joy Lenz are not returning. Lucy and Jack’s story ended where it ended. (Unless we get a super surprise cameo that everyone would be thrilled about!)
What Is A Grand Biltmore Christmas About?
The story opens in 1895, on the night Biltmore House first welcomes guests for Christmas Eve.
Thirteen-year-old Elizabeth meets Michael, a mysterious teenager caught trespassing on the estate. The two form an instant connection. Then Michael disappears without a word.
Twenty years pass. Elizabeth returns to Biltmore, this time with a suitor her family expects her to marry. At a Christmas gala, a stranger asks her to dance. It is Michael.
What happens next is pure Biltmore. Elizabeth is transported to the modern world, where she learns the truth about Michael. He is a present-day tourist who traveled to the past years earlier, using a magical hourglass hidden in the Biltmore library.
Now Elizabeth has to experience Christmas in the 21st century and make a choice. She can return to the life her family planned for her, or she can follow her heart somewhere entirely new.

Is This a Sequel to A Biltmore Christmas?
Yes and no, and the distinction is worth understanding before you watch.
A Grand Biltmore Christmas is a new story with new characters. It does not continue the romance between Lucy and Jack from the 2023 film.
What carries over is the world. The estate, the sense of magic, the time-crossing structure, and Jonathan Frakes as Winston. Think of it as a return to the same place rather than a continuation of the same plot.
Hallmark took the element fans loved most, which was Biltmore itself, and built something new around it.
Who Made A Grand Biltmore Christmas?
Dustin Rikert directs. He executive produced the 2023 original, so he knows this world well. His directing credits include Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, The Christmas Quest and A Newport Christmas. He is also directing this year’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story, which opens Countdown to Christmas on October 17.
Marcy Holland wrote the screenplay. She wrote the original too, which is a good sign for tonal consistency.
David O’Donnell returns as executive producer. Hallmark viewers may also recognize him from in front of the camera. He played Rex in A Newport Christmas.
John Putch directed the 2023 film and is not returning
Was It Filmed at Biltmore?
Yes. Hallmark returned to Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
Production was timed for right after the 2025 holidays, while the estate was still fully decorated for Christmas. Biltmore’s holiday display takes weeks to install and involves dozens of trees and miles of garland. Filming while it was still up meant the crew got the real thing rather than a set dressing version of it.
